I have most of them stored, but I'm trying to find ways to incorporate them around my island.
What do you do with your fish and insect models?

I used to put them all on display in my upstairs room, but at this point I'm just getting so many that I'm slowly moving them to my second character's storage. I don't really know why I continue to ask CJ for more, to be honest. At this point I have pretty much all of the fish that I really like, and even then I don't really have anywhere to put them!

I was trying to get every model, but that has slowed because I find I only like displaying certain ones, and like others in here, I have storage issues. Here is my current bug model project, because I love the monarch butterfly models (and the color orange)
(I’m putting them on all the custom design spots, which will defeat their original purpose as places for balloons to drop, but oh well.)

Mine is just sitting in the storage. They are just models after all and can't become substitute for real insects.

The one thing that makes me sad is that of all the bugs to put in a static position, flick puts the FIREFLY in one. If that thing was in a flying pose they’d be everywhere on a whole ton of islands!

Most of mine are still in storage. I just want one of everything for Harv's island to mess around with. I have two butterfly models out in my fancy garden that I plan to switch out with each new season.
I might make a sushi stand on one of my rocks and have some fish on display.

Here is what i did with mine: posting screenshots since I realized it is kinda hard to understand what I meant in my first post.
I forgot that I also used the Betta model (most disappointing model ever; both sides look so flat instead of the tail looking as poofy when I caught it).
I might add more models to the area once more flowers have grown there (also still debating whether to stick with white lilies or add a few more orange and yellow; based the area on several DAI screenshots).
The bettas represent wisps. In this area called the Fade and sometimes by rifts, there are some white spirits in the shape of a wisp.

I've strewn them around my island. Lot of butterflies and other pretty bugs in my forest, some fish by the western shore, etc. The challenge is in making sure they don't clutter my island as I keep getting more of them made.
i’ve only made butterfly models so far and right now, i have a bunch of monarch butterfly models in margie’s garden/backyard. it has a yellow/orange/red colour scheme to it and so, i thought this would be the best model to use.
i’ll likely scatter more butterfly models around my island and i have plans to use some + the snail, honeybee and ladybug models for my bug themed cafe

I wanted to make a cute little banded dragonfly model because I have a cafe that was supposed to be dragonfly themed to match sable’s traditional dragonfly pattern... but the model turned out to be HUGE and gross I honestly barfed a little. So it’s just chilling in my storage lol. I also had a Koi model I used in my house to go with some of my red-themed furniture in my living room.

when flick visits u talk to him and on the second option is make a model, u then give him 3 of any bug and he will mail it to you the next dayNo one get mad at me but I have never done the fishing tournament or bug off

Once he makes you a model can you order more from your catalogue or do you need to give 3 bugs every time you want a model?

I put up my small bug models in my wild area, usually behind flowers to hide the stands. They look really good and have been times when I actually mistook them for the real thing. The giant moth models I have flying through space in my main area where a space hole has opened up
was very dissapointed with the fish models, they are so small and have plaques on the stands making it to hard to display them as if they were real. would like to make a display room for them, but would want new furniture for that. preferably a cupboard with 2 levels that could hold 4 small models

I'm only doing models I like. I'm working on getting all the butterflies, dragonflies, ladybugs, and honey bees. Those are being displayed in my cedar forest/fairy village/along the river. The bees will go with the hives.
I've only made two fish models - a great white shark for my shark spotting station and a sea bass for my main room, which has a New England saltbox style.

same thing happened to me, the model was so large & detailed that I immediately put it into storage to never look at it again... you should try the red dragonfly one! It’s smaller & not as gross looking lol
I mostly get bug models bc the fish ones are disappointing and focus on the butterflies since they’re so colorful and pretty! My island is mostly “natural” so I’m trying to sprinkle in some butterflies throughout my island
