What do you do with old fossils?

When you have a repeat fossil that you've already donated to the museum, what do you do with it? I just go to Re-Tail and sell them because I don't really have a use for them anymore, but I've seen people asking to trade fossils for something else on here, so it has me thinking about saving them from now on. If my fossil collection in the museum is complete, I'll just sell the unassessed fossils to Reese lol

While I'm still working on completing my museum, I have every fossil assessed and sell the duplicates at Re-Tail to earn some money. Once I've completed the fossil portion of my museum, I bury 4 unassessed fossils somewhere out of the way, like on my beach, so that they won't spawn in my town anymore. I don't like having to walk around and check every nook and cranny for them daily because of the grass wear, so by burying them, I don't have to worry about it anymore.

I suppose if there was a miniature fossil that I really wanted from Cyrus to display, then I would keep digging up fossils and having them assessed until I was able to get the miniature I wanted. But right now, I don't feel a need to get any miniatures for my current town so I'm done hunting for fossils.

I've never considered trading fossils. My fossil collection was the first part of the museum I completed, so I never stressed about it. I think I'd prefer to find all of my fossils on my own versus getting from someone else, especially since I consider that one of the easiest areas to complete.

that's a very smart idea. i'm going to start doing that from now on

I dig them up and sell them to Re-Tail. Often I'll put them all in front of my station and when there's enough gathered there I'll take a big bunch at once to the Museum to get them assessed so they sell for more bells. But when I'm too lazy I'll just sell them unassessed, although you do lose quite a few bells like that..

Gonna be absolutely honest here luv..... a just sell them for a quick buck ������ dun have the time for that space filling mess xxx also looking at the dirt star is always ugly so i dig that lil pig UP and sell it!

I usually keep them in my closet and turn them into miniatures to gift to my villagers. I keep track of the fossils I own so I can sell any that I have more than 2 of. I like to gift them to my villagers because it seems like they all really like fossils but I don’t want a giant 2x2 taking up space in their homes lol.

I've thankfully completed my museum so I've buried my unassessed fossils in town so they won't spawn elsewhere in town. Back then, though, when I was still trying ti fill up my museum, I would just sell them to Reese if they were doubles.

Mine are incorporated within the path design of my town, so I do not dig up my fossils anymore. If I had the space I would keep one of each to see if anyone would want them on here, why not! I unfortunately cannot however haha. If I was still looking for bells, I would identify and sell them. Other than than, just plotting them in a hidden spot sounds good if they are not needed.

I used to start recollecting them to be a complete set, again and again. Some sets were handed to Cyrus to be mini dinosaur models. Some sets were just stored in the storage so I could give it when someone needs a certain piece. BUT after repeating to work on this silly collecting work and had like 5 complete miniature dino models set WITH NO USE and got desperately in need of freeing up some space in the storage (and on the ground yes) I managed to make myself understand that I gotta quit this habit.
No I only keep 3 or 4 sets and just sell everything else I dig up everyday to Reese.

I can't believe it never occurred to me to re-bury some once my museum was complete @_@ I did just restart my town a month ago though, so for now, I will continue selling dupes to Re-Tail. I considered doing mini models I liked for a brief second when I first started entirely, but my hording problem for other cuter items halted that potentially space consuming option.

Sometimes I display them in my house. Dinosaurs have pretty much always interested me, so why not have an ancient fossil in my house? Other times I give them to Cyrus to make miniatures out of. Once I have completely exhausted my need for fossils I just sell them to Re-Tail. I don't see any use in keeping them around at that point.

More often than not I'll just sell the repeat fossils to Re-Tail. I've sometimes saved pieces of certain species so I can get a full set and have Cyrus make a miniature, but that's not a particularly common occurence.

i make mini models of the dinosaurs i like! but when i'm done with that i just have them assessed and sell them at retail for free money since part of my routine is to go around my town looking for fossils in the morning. sometimes if i see someone's looking for a fossil on here i check the stuff that i dug up and if it's what they're looking for i sell it there but otherwise i just sell everything to reese? i've been thinking about burying four fossils on my beach so i don't have to look for them everyday anymore but for now i appreciate the easy money so i won't do that yet i guess

Usually if I have an extra I?ll try to trade it for something I don?t have yet. Once my museum is full, I?ll sell some and keep a few in case I want to trade it here for something else I want.

I sell them, but some I have been saving in my larger storage unit at house because I want to eventually make a cool ?fossil room? in my second house in town. I have a magma cavern wall and lava floor, and that would look really cool with the archelon fossil set and the Amber pieces that I?ve been saving. The rest of them I just sell because it?s a good way to make in-game bells.

I save them and have Cyrus make me a miniature version once I have all the pieces! My museums fossil collection is full and I only have 2 more miniatures to make so after that I think I'll start saving them for a big giveaway I'm planning to have on here in the future
