What do you do first? Singleplayer, or Multiplayer?

So you buy a new game that has Online Multiplayer. What do you do first? Play Singleplayer all the way to the end, or play Multiplayer right away? Depending of the game, Singleplayer may be long, so it would be possible to go to Mutiplayer. This excludes games like Mario Kart Wii, since there's no story.

Well, it really depends on what I'm buying the game for. For first person shooters I usually go multiplayer, but for adventure games (Like Uncharted) I generally go singleplayer first. But I have to go for singleplayer at the moment since I've played all my xbox games to death and PSN is failing.

i did portal 2 co op, first..

but i think i generally play single player for a while, to get my bearings.. i dunno.

i haven't been playing recent games, so the whole "always available" multiplayer is something new, for me.

For Uncharted, i did a bit of the single player, stopped and played a little bit of the Multi-player, and so on.

on mortal kombat i did multiplayer first to get used to the controls and settings

on other games i would head to single player first(apart from Black Ops)

I want to finish the story and get better at the game. Although I usually kinda lose the will to play online because people can be so silly. :U
