I just talked to Kid Cat and my mayor was calling him "Aqua Bro". Its weird on how my mayor called Kid Cat "Aqua Bro" when all he was doing was just fishing. But if he was a professional swimmer that's different.

This might be the only thing a mayor can call your villagers anything, but if not. Did your mayor call your villagers something weird?

The OP means the weirdest/strangest nickname you've been called by your animals. Like when they come up and ask you if they're allowed to call you a certain nickname they made up.

Of course they don't, Kid Cat was holding a fishing rod and "Aqua Bro" was just in the villager's speech.

I think you are confused/misread the game. I'm sure Kid Cat was calling you Aquabro. The mayor never actually speaks. Also, I get called all sorts of weird bro names by jocks though none seem to come to me right now.

It's understandable to be confused, however. It's kind of strange when they talk to you while they're fishing.

Yeah, it was Kid Cat calling you Aqua Bro, not you calling him that. The mayor never talks to the villagers unless you have the option to. As for me, my Kid Cat constantly calls me ladybro.

This thread is a train wreck. You probably misread your villager's name for your mayor's name.

Your animal villager was most likely the one to have called you Aquabro. Jocks come up with really weird extra nicknames along with the official nickname you want them to call you. Like for example, dudebro, ladybro, and other stupid stuff like that. It's common for them to do that and they come up with them usually in relation to what you are doing at the time like when you talked to him when he was fishing, it could also be because maybe you have a fishing rod in hand.

Btw, your mayor can only indirectly talk through dialogue choices like saying "don't go" vs "who are you?" when a villager asks to move, or when you drag the scroller up or down like when you say a normal villager is more like pretzels or chocolates, stuff like that.
