What did you name your island?

I named mine Asphodel, after the Asphodel islands in Greek mythology.
My second choice was Soteria, which is the Greek goddess of safety which I felt really embodies how I feel about the animal crossing games

It was between Gilead (from the Dark Tower series) and Hogsmeade (duh). Went with Hogsmeade on a coin toss.

Although now that I think about it, I missed a real opportunity to go with Koholint. I always name places from books, though. Sheesh.

Sandy Bay... Not very original I know. But I like how simple it is plus I like the flag that I made for the island considering I'm not an artist.

Bonnieux, after a place in France I was supposed to be going on holiday, until coronavirus started!

I'm going to try for a French vibe for my island, and get some of the french-sounding islanders :)

I named mine Symphonia, after one of my favorite video games of all time, Tales of Symphonia. I love that entire franchise but Symphonia was the first one I played, and the one I've beaten the most. It's what introduced me to this series so no matter how many more they release, it'll always have a special place in my heart.

These are all such great names, really starting to rethink my own now!

I love the fantasy vibe everyone seems to have!

It took me forever to pick a name, but after typing in words into a thesaurus online I finally decided on Halcyon!

I wanted an island name that sounded quite whimsical so it could play off into a fantasy world, but also uncommon as a word so I wouldn't feel obligated to follow a theme based on it. That and lastly I wanted it to give feeling on what I hope my island would become ^^

Here are its meanings:

adjective
  1. denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful.
noun
  1. 1.
a mythical bird said by ancient writers to breed in a nest floating at sea at the winter solstice, charming the wind and waves into calm.

Cavalon. It's the name of a place in Guild Wars that I used to play when I was younger.

I also think it sounds like a charming, quaint seaside town, which is what I'm going for.

I tend to name my fantasy characters Halcyon! Its a great name! :)

Our Island, because I am a vision of originality. And because it follows the theme of my last two towns. My town and Our town. The dialogue it gives is adorable too!

Windfall!

I got the name from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Windfall Island is one of my favorite islands on the game, and I liked the name enough to use it for my island.

Tsuchinoko! It's the big chumby snake that brings me the most joy! I'm also trying to make an outfit to have some villagers rep the chubby snake cryptid pride!

Without going into too much personal detail, I named mine Serene⭐ .

It's my safe word I use for calming down during my EMDR sessions or whenever I feel anxious, so I felt it was appropriate since Animal Crossing has always been a game I go to during difficult times.
