Something I never knew until yesterday is dat you can actually get items by going through the drawers/closet of a villager. After many hours of play and checking multiple drawers before to read the funny remarks, I never had this happen until yesterday. Perhaps I was just unlucky all this time. It's probably common knowledge.

I found it funny that I found a feature I never knew about, so now I'm kinda wondering if others had this happen before and if they ever got a useful free item/piece of furniture? I'm definitely checking those drawers more often
I had no clue you could get items from their drawers, it's never happened to me before ._. Now I have the sudden urge to barge into everyone's houses and rummage through their belongings...I'm a terrible neighbor.
Eugene has some weird things in his dresser. When ever I find something in there Eugene begs me to take it from him. He's the only villager in my town that has a dresser.
I found out on accident too! I always click them when they ask me to come over and hang out, I try to click or do interactions with all their items to eat up time between talking to them until they offer me something, and I always check the closets and drawers like you, for the funny remarks, but I have found a few items, I think the best thing I got was a computer.
