What did you do with leftover fossils?

Oh man I didn't know 6 was the max, I've left it at ~5 fossils undug and thought they kept respawning so I'd end up digging them up >_< I might leave them buried somewhere but usually I dig up ones that I see/don't have to go out of the way (i.e. climb up a cliff or something) and appraise & sell them
I keep some for decoration though like the tiny ones, ones that look like rocks, and of course the poopy looking one!

First I kept collecting till i got all the fossils a second time in case I wanted any for decoration. now I put them all on my second island for people to look through and find ones they are missing. Since I had the space I actually set them all up on that island and now keep dropping the extras at the base so its even easier to search for what you need :)

I dig them up every day and sell them even though I don't need the money. I figure I might as well keep saving up my bells in case my older sister ends up buying the game. Then I can give her a big chunk of money to get started.

I just leave them be :D sometimes friends want to go hunting for them

I actually used my favorite ones to decorate, and I have 1 of every fossil stocked up in case the models make a comeback (doe I might give up and sell them already) I personally don’t mind them one bit, so I dig em up everyday! I have like 5 dinosaurs around my island just because I like them that much haha

I completed the fossil exhibit back in June of this year, and now I just sell the leftover fossils to Nook's Cranny everyday. I don't really have any use for the fossils anymore.

Like a lot of others here I like to use the small ones for decorating around the museum. If I see them around my island in the ground I don't go out of my way to dig them up anymore. I used to, but now that my museum has so many of them the excitement has abated.

I don't seek them out, but I'll dig them up when I see them. I put them into storage, until I have a nook miles daily "assess fossils" task, then I take all the fossils and assess them and sell them.

I used to keep all the extras for friends and decor, but I'm pretty tight on storage space so sell, sell, sell.

I sell them. I have a few displays and planned displays of fossils, but I got all the duplicates I wanted long ago when I was still completing my museum, so now I just sell them without even looking at what they are.

I still dig them up when I see them but I never go out of my way to look for them. I just can't resist the temptation to dig into that nice fat x on the ground. For months I just plopped them all into my storage and let them build up with no real idea of what I wanted to do with them. My boyfriend started playing about a week or two ago and was in need of a little extra cash so I donated them all to him. Not only is his dinosaur exhibit already at about 95% completion but he also made out with 260,000 bells from selling all the duplicates.

I kept a couple of small ones to decorate, then buried 6 behind my museum. I don't need the bells, so it was easier to stop the spawning and cross that off my list each day.

I have all my extras stored with my second character. But I've stopped digging them up and have buried them behind a cliff! Although i may start digging them up again so i can have 1 of each fossil in storage in case i wanted to decorate with them.

I always dig them up to sell as i need bells right now but i think once i dont need them anymore then i will do that nl trick though idk if it works the same here.

I sell them or I just stop digging them up in general.

i dig them all up, assess them, and then sell them to nook's. I used to collect extras of the bigger fossils like the Brachio and Diplo set, but I've found I like the look of the Megalo set on my island better aha

I sell them. :) Haven't found a better use for them otherwise, yet, lol. Though I'd like a completed sabertooth just to display somewhere!

Four spawn every day, so I tried burying four and more still spawned.

I use a certain fossil as garden rocks. :)
