What catchphrase is most popular among your villagers?

"Katt attack" and "woolio" are spreading like wildfire in my town.I didn't realize that catchphrases spread so quickly in New Horizons and now I kinda regret telling Joey to say "buttquack".

Before that, it was "magenta." I gave that to Miranda and she spread it around the town.

i try to give each of my villagers a unique catchphrase so the catchphrase bug wouldn't get spread out. that lowkey kinda annoys me since i tend to give them specific ones that matches them so it's weird to see another villager use it lol..

My villagers are actually leveled out - 1/2 of them are saying "periodt" and the other half are saying "ACAB" - I've had Ketchup change her catchphrase probably twice today

It's funny you mention that they're doing more because I caught this interesting conversation between Canberra and Hornsby about the catchphrase. Hornsby asked Canberra to use it, and when she gave him permission, he started saying stuff like "ACAB, I just had a lot of snacks!" and Canberra told him that wasn't the right way to use ACAB - that you use it to stand up for your friends

"Vern sux" was one I gave Tammy (Vern is my mom's name and she shares an island with me) and she spread that like crazy. I recently gave Bam "BLM" and that one is getting popular too, and I'm not mad about either one

zetus or lepetus :')))))) love me some zenon. in general tho, they all have their own phrases i've given them. most are space or sci-fi themed bc my town is that.

I always refuse to change their catchphrase cause I get so tired of hearing it.
But they almost all call me "chief" now, and I enjoy that a lot. Maybe too much.

I like your thinking! I was on team 'default catchphrase' (Eloise the elephant goes "toooot"! How can you want to change that) but you might just have inspired me to start a catchphrase pandemic

I suppose you can always send Isabelle after every one of the affected villagers...

mine all say "your majesty" or "my queen"

a few say "eh?" since I'm from Canada lol

I decided to leave them with their original catchphrases, since I have read of so many people complaining about villagers spreading catchphrases to one another. Initially, I had the idea of giving each one of them something quirky that would match their own character, but since they have the tendency to share, I decided not to do it.

Every time they ask, I just tell them their original phrases are fine. But I'm not sure if anyone knows this, but if you tell them you will change it and you type in their original catchphrase, they'll catch it and ask if you're sure. Afterwards, they're always flattered with you deciding to keep their phrases the same.
