What Can Dodo Code Visitors Do?

Hi all,

Beyond sharing things with my close friends, I'm pretty new to the online aspect of this game and wonder if you can explain something to me?

What exactly can visitors who you invite via dodo code (ie- they're not on your friends list) do on your island? I'm looking for a worst case scenario really...hopefully to put my mind at ease!

I read somewhere that they can place custom designs in your Able Sisters store and then your islanders might start wearing their designs without you having any control over it? Is that the case, or did I misunderstand?

Worst case scenario, they can pick up any spare items on your ground (not placed furniture), shake your trees, trample/pluck your flowers. Nothing too devastating but still a pain!

I'm pretty sure they can do anything a regular friend can do (so basically most things minus using a shovel). Your friends, even best friends cannot use the kiosk at your Able Sisters, your ATM or customize things on your island (they can craft though)

Just in case, pick up everything lying on the ground, and if you're super paranoid shake trees, and pick flowers so they can't. Keep your eye on your visitor just in case since there have been cases where they run off and take whatever stuff they see lying around. Otherwise, they can't do much else. If you want you can fence off your airport so you can only do trades there.

People can't use the kiosk at Able Sisters but they can ‘upload’ their patterns to those racks of clothes you have at the back of the shop next to the kiosk, they don't need to be friends with you to do that. Like people have mentioned, if you don't want to worry about it, it's best to fence off your able sisters.

I wonder why Nintendo decided that random visitors being able to upload custom designs (potentially containing all sorts of inappropriate images / text) would be a good idea?

Is there no way of deleting them if that happens?

From what I understand, visitors who aren’t on your best friend list can’t use shovels or axes. So the worst they can do it pick flower heads, shake tree and harvest fruit and pick up any drop items off the floor or tables. They can buy items from your shop though and I think (not 100% sure) that they can add custom patterns to able sisters.

They can’t pick up patterns, paths, cut down trees or break rocks .

All good, but yeah would be annoying if someone decided to do something 'funny'/inappropriate to those clothes. They should have added an option for user to choose whether they allow people to upload designs or not.

You can replace the other people's pattern by uploading your own design.

Sure they can place their own design on the wall at ables but thats easily replaceable if it’s something you don’t want there. All in all they can’t do anything that’s going to ruin your gameplay otherwise online play would be a disaster. That being said always pick up dropped items you wouldn’t want someone else to take or fence off areas like orchards if you don’t want someone on shaking your trees¯\_(ツ)_/¯
