Can I please get more dialog options? Like- asking them if they need help, or asking what happened when they look sad/angry instead of them just telling me to go away. Maybe even being able to invite them over, or something.
Wouldn't a phone be nice? Or something. Something that could contact a villager regardless of where they were without having to result to the bullhorn?
Multi player gaming could have been better.
It would have been nice to have a person tracker on the map based on their speech bubble color to see where players are in your town at all times. That way you know who is going in which area and etc. I mean, you have in for your own character and side characters - so why can't it be included for visitors?
I also wish we could leave comments on people's dream addresses on the bulletin board, that would be interesting in my opinion.
Ordering bushes. It's a pain if you need a lot of a certain type of bush. And sometimes you have to wait probably months until you could buy it. It gets really annoying so I think this way it'll be faster and easier.
House placements, dialogue, there should be more things at Club LOL. And some other stuff.
Ability to:
drag and place pwps.
customize floors and walls to match customized furniture.
Change skin tone
Have some outdoor furniture
Choose dialogue topics with villagers. No, you can't have a new catchphrase unless I bring it up.
Place houses
Hire nook or lief to move rocks
Definitely skin tone and more gender options!
They could also make the way you talk to each other easier somehow. Maybe with voice recordings n\back and forth or something similar like how they have the megaphone.
A bigger town would always be appreciated...
Definitely agree with zoning of villagers and plotting, as well as dragging and placing PWPs. Same with new dialogues and being able to help villagers if they're stomping around in a huff, as well as moving rocks (I've got two in annoying places).
And I think being able to order bushes is a great idea, too. That, and I'd like to be able to buy them in bulk. The island FINALLY had some bush starts yesterday, and I needed to buy about 10 of them...and it was done by constantly going back through the dialogue; it was really annoying and time consuming.
-Speaking of the island...I'd like to see the Club Tortimer application go away once it's been purchased. It keeps respawning every day I visit the island for the past couple weeks instead of something else I can possibly use or buy with the coins, and so it's a waste of space there.
-I also really would like to see AC be more of an open sandbox sort of world. If I'm stuck being the mayor and having to design my entire town (rather than being a farmer living in a town like in Harvest Moon), I'd like to be able to customize it down to the buildings. Like...if I want it to look like the Ewok village, I should be allowed to change how the buildings look. If I want it to look like Edo-period Kyoto, there should be options for that as well.
Path patterns allow for customization, but then you've got these modern buildings and PWPs and what-not, which just doesn't fit. So, maybe allow for those patterns to be applied to buildings? Or being able to change the color of the PWPs, in the least.
That would allow for much more diverse towns. People are creative with what they have to work with, but it would be easier on everyone to make themed towns if we had more choices. Furniture can be modified, so why not clothing and buildings?
-I'd also really love the ability to order a villager out. I'm the freak'n mayor, I should be allowed to decide if someone needs to pack up their things and get out rather than wait a week or more for them to decide they're leaving. I've been ignoring Pietro for a week, and he's still in my town. GO AWAY ALREADY, you rude and creepy sheep.
I've got tons of other suggestions, some of which have already been covered (like skin tone and better character customization), but the open sandbox world is right now my biggest suggestion (besides wishing that blasted Club Tortimer application would stop appearing in the island shop every day already).
I'd also like to be able to design pants and shorts in addition to shirts.
I agree that the dialogue is extremely repetitive. It was pretty diverse in Wild World and City Folk, so you would have expected it to be a lot better this time around, but I suppose not.
I also think that they could have at least made same personalities say different things. I think it would be a lot easier to choose dreamies that way, so then you could decide which dialogue you liked the best. Once you learn what villagers say, the only reason you can decide to have them as a dream villager is by how they look.
And of course, choose where you want houses to be placed. If you're the mayor, why can't you do that?
Basically, I like New Leaf a lot in general, along with all the freedom it has, but I wish it could have at least been a little bit more realistic.
The one thing I HATE HATE HATE with a passion, and think is so incredibly stupid, is the way that you can get other people's voided villagers. THAT is just completely pointless and stupid. Imagine that there was some effort they must have put into building it into the software too! They actually put that IN! Why??????!!!!
