If you played the game it's a little strange at first but after a while it's quite a fun ride. And during that ride there can be great moments when you finally beat a level, and frustrating moments when you miss a platform jump that causes your death.

Recently, an LP'er I like watching on Youtube started playing it and it inspired me to dig my copy out and try playing it again. I decided to start a new file because I wanted a fresh start to experience the full game in it's entirety.

So much nostalgia from playing.
Anyway, my most loved moment has gotta be using the dune buds to destroy those annoying cataquacks on Gelato Beach (let's see how you like being flipped up in the air HAHAHA XD).
My most hated is definitely the secret pachinko level in Delfino Plaza. Ugh, such an annoying way to collect red coins. And frustrating that you have little control where you end up (so many deaths T_T).

So which moments did you guys love or hate when playing?

100%ing that game was a nightmare, compared to 64.
You just get a postcard and that's it.
Though I still do have a soft spot for Sunshine.

I haaaaaated those challenge levels for purple(?) coins.

Most loved moment? Probably getting the Rocket jet and surfing across the water.

Jeez, I really loved that game though.

My favorite moment has to be exploring the levels, especially Pinna Park, Noki Bay, etc. as well as the story.

My most hated moment has to be the second Blooper level in Ricco Harbor as I would collect every stinkin coin, but I could never get the jump right to collect the shine. Don't even get me started on that f***ing chuckster level.

Them blue coins annoyed me but i loved all the variety of levels the game had.

Most loved: The levels. Sure, some of them were frustrating, but compared to 64, in my opinion, they felt so fleshed out, unique and crawling with secrets. I still remember finding the hidden shrine in the sand of Delfino Plaza, and its fellows in Gelato Beach.

Most hated: The final boss. Sure, I didn't take it as bad due to the fact that I had little difficulty with the final area, and I already knew what was coming, but still... for a Mario boss, it was kind of lame. Either that or about half of the secret levels in Delfino Plaza. There's a reason I still haven't 100% completed this game.

I loved the amuesment park level. But that one part where you raced the squid. What a pain.

Love: Yoshi's spinning throw up move
Hate: Everything else

The boat in Corona Mountain, I hated it so much because it hated me in return...Also Bowser's VA was dumb ;-;

I actually liked the Squid racing lol

Oh man. The voice acting was just laughable in this game. Why they thought it needed it I'll never know. At least it was limited and only at certain parts of the game.

My whole experience.

Loved: Getting Yoshi
Hated: Accidentally belly hopping off the platform and dying

I really like the bright colors and level design in the game. My favorite levels were the amusement park and the Casino with King Boo. Yoshi was a cute addition to the game too, but I didn't like that there wasn't much you could do with him. Sometimes the controls on the platforms were difficult and frustrating, but overall I really did enjoy the game when I had it on the gamecube. :)

I love all of the crazy nozzles you could use with fludd. I would always try to see how high I could climb in a course with hover/ rocket nozzles. I also found it funny that you could electrocute Mario on a tiny, almost invisible speck of electro-goop. lol

I hate that Yoshi can drown...in a puddle. (I tried standing in a fountain once and jumped off Yoshi.) I can beat all of the challenge coin missions, but there is some love/hate there. :)

Yeah, kinda annoying that they made Yoshi unable to stand water in this game. Still, I guess they thought it added some more challenge when doing the levels that required using him.

I got another moment. When I first played this a long time ago, I remember having a difficult time figuring out how to get that one blue coin in Delfino Plaza where you had to get those stupid Durians for a Pianta's fruit basket. This time around though, I figured out that Mario's running jump dive move was my best friend when doing this. :)

Hey, I totally forgot that King Boo was in this game, if I recall correctly, he looked different from his Luigi's Mansion incarnations. He was in the same level where you fought that shadow ray thing, right?
To be honest, I barely remember anything about the game. All I can remember is that horrible special level in which you had to collecvt red coins on a flying bird.
I also have some foggy memories involving using F.L.O.O.D. to push giant fruits over a wooden bridge... bad memories.

I want to replay it now, I think I'll hunt for a copy in E-bay when I finish my current games.

the manta ray level
it was so hard when i was a kid
ahhhhhhhhhhhh

this

the "red coins on the sand bird" was a close second

oh yeah the boat to corona mountain was a ***** too

Ugh, the sand bird level. When I first played it a long time ago, I had a real difficult time with that level. Mostly because, I had a difficult time being safe when it turned sideways and being mindful of the air currents. I still gotta go back to that level to get the rest of the blue coins for Gelato Beach.
