Turnips, turnips and more turnips not just because of the update either. When I used to play ac I enjoyed hunting for fish and bugs but something about doing it now feels tedious to me. I only check with one person for price comparisons and we don’t time travel so there’s still some risk involved but I much prefer the idea of playing ac without money issues. (Though turnip storage is a nightmare so hopefully one day I can make enough to stop.
I use Turnips as my main source of income. A good week will give me about 2-4mil bells depending on how many I end up buying... And that money lasts me a while.
I've accumulated a decent amount of bells using the stalk market for two weeks in a row and I think I'm ok now. Like, I know that for some, 7mil isn't much, but I already paid for most of what I needed (still need to pay for one bridge and two staircases). I will pay Tom for the final expansion very slowly, so that's not an issue.
I still catch fish and bugs sometimes and I sell most of the fossils I find during the week, so that helps too.
Catching bugs still and fish, turnips, selling seashells, duplicate fossils and random stuff. I also sell my apples on my hubbies island. Nook miles tickets sometimes gets me an island with oranges or money rocks
Planting money trees
Definitely the turnips, for me. I was never much of a stalk market player in New Leaf, but it has helped me make a decent amount of money so far in New Horizons.
