TBH, I really don't care if somebody dupes... all it is is a glitch that may or may not have been in previous games, so of course people are going to take advantage of it. But from what I know, if items come from regular duping, it doesn't really do any harm. I guess the only reason why people don't like it is because it's "cheating" the game, though Animal Crossing, as said by commercials, is a game that you can do whatever you want, it is your choice. Besides, nobody really worries if an item is duped anymore unless somebody admits to it.
And the best way to get lots of clovers is to time travel long distances.
People can play however they want. Some may consider it cheating but then don't do it if you don't like it... It doesn't harm anyone.
I don't see anything bad with duping. I don't know anyone who has duped except using a powersave unless that counts. I've even been to a powersaved town and it was pretty amazing seeing every single item you can find in acnl.
I bet everyone here has received duped items and they don't even know it. some users here even have multiple items of the same unorderables and oh well how do you have so many and it's probably because they use a powersave and they end up making a profit with forums bells because why would you need in game bells anyway when they can get infinite bells.
I don't care for those who are against it, it's not my problem. I just walk away.
Mhm, I agree. And I only know a tiny bit about powersaving, idk knowing the ins and outs and glitches in games is interesting to me bc I understand the inner workings of it more?? I guess you could say, hehe. but yeah, profitting = bad as most people have agreed.
This thread feels like it's against the rules... I'm sure it's fine since it hasn't been closed yet, but still XD
Same c:
Clovers just take way too long to buy or collect on your own, and my path literally needed hundreds. I think duping is fine and I have no problems with it, but I understand why people consider it cheating (it literally is cheating). As long as they're not telling other people how to play the game, I don't care what people do.
But selling duped items for profit online is pretty lame in my opinion. Like...idk. It feels like scamming somehow. Dishonest. It's also against TBT rules .-.
As for growing them in your town: turn off beautiful ordinance and start TTing years and years ahead. Pick all the weeds but leave the clovers. Keep doing that until you have as many as you need. That's how my cycling town got covered in clovers ^^
LMFAO
I was sort of thinking that but i read that it's only against the rules to look for someone to dupe with and selling duped items so i'm safe, ehehe and yeah, only super lame people sell duped stuff ):<<<<
and thanks! i read in multiple places though that the beauty ordinance doesnt affect the spawn of clovers?? hmm, i'll try it out either way, haha. wouldnt hurt to try, i mean i dont have that many hybrids so i could store them easily.
espeshly semi-illegl weeds
Duping I think is like cheating...
i can see that, yeah, but tbh i think it's more of a glitch than a cheat. people have accidentally duped before. it's unlile'y, but it can happen, and has happened, and i wouldnt call an accident a cheat, haha (x
Duping items and selling them on this site is the worst thing you can do on this site. I take duping extremely seriously.
As for the clover spawns, I don't really think they have any effect on luck. I use them to make Kaylee look prettier.
yo, man, if that's your opinion, then i won't defy you. it's reasonable to not like duping, and i can see why you wouldnt like it, and with some elements, i also really dont like it unless it's personal use. but if it's personal use, then who cares, right? as long as you don't take advantage of people and items because of it.
i would, however, disagree that it's the worst thing on here. i think scamming is much much worse, especially with villagers and valuable items that were earned honestly.
I think if people want to dupe, they can go ahead and do so. To me, it's a little like resetting for a certain villager/camper. You're just exploiting a part of the game to work in your favor.
However, if they are going to offer/sell their duped goods to others, they should at least have the decency to say that they've duped those items. It's like people doing giveaways of rare shiny Pokemon with perfect stats, but don't say that the Pokemon was created through illegitimate means (Even if it's obvious the Pokemon was genned). It doesn't really impact the quality of anything in my opinion, but some people might feel cheated, maybe?
I personally wouldn't do it because knowing me, I'd mess up somewhere and lose something valuable.
mhm, mhm. *nods* it'd feel less valuable imo if, for example, it was a duped royal crown. plus, with duped items, the actual market value of things grow lower and lower and i forgot what the economical word for it was but it happens irl with money?? idk?? was it inflation??? who knows?? i dont LMAO.
Cross duping corrupts the game. Like when you try to dupe two inventories by switching them.
It's risky.
o: i've never heard of this before, man this game is more broken than i thought it was (x
Personally I couldn't care less if people dupe or not, it's up to them what they do with their game. I don't do it because I really enjoy the challenge of earning the bells and trading to get items, it makes the game last so much longer for me, and gives me a true sense of satisfaction that I've worked for my badges/achievements.
yeah, exactly. it gets old when you do everything really quickly and all at once (unless it's something super tedious and boring) but i def agree with you there.
