What are the origins of your town name

When I got the game in 2013, I was on a huge Medieval 2: Total War kick. Timbuktu is like the holy grail in that game, with exports making it the richest city on the left half of the map, and that's without having a port or any trade routes. I felt it was a good analogy for an export-oriented village. :)

OK mine is super dumb lol. But when I went to gp buy ACNL in Best Buy they we're playing Circus by BRITNEY Spears. And when I got in the car and started playing I couldn't get the song out of my head.... so I named my town circus. ._.

My town is named Avalar, after the realm the second Spyro game takes place. Of course, one of my character files is a male named Spyro <3

My town is named Azure. I was really stuck what to call it and I knew azure meant blue and it sounded like a nice name so I thought why not haha.

My town's name is Shizen, after the Japanese word for nature. After all, in AC, you're surrounded by nature.

My mayor's name, Aika (meaning "love song"), also sounds really nice with it.

Hanami ♥ For the name of course! The town looks pretty good when its Cherry blossom time in game, if I do say so myself xD and for the bunch of flowers around town~

Mantadae, because back then, I was obsessed with manta rays... but it sounded weird, just being "Manta," so I added "dae" to the end of it to make it sound cool. ;)

I had to convince you to spell it mantadae instead of mantay ;)

My new town actually doesn't exist yet (I keep resetting because I'm not happy with my map yet), but I know I'm going to call it Hiraeth.
It's Welsh and basically means "Hiraeth is a longing for one's homeland, but it's not mere homesickness. It's an expression of the bond one feels with one's home country when one is away from it." (definition from urbandictionary)
I really, really like the melancholy of it and think it's really cool as a town name. :)

my Town is called Ultron, because I reset at the time the Avengers Age of Ultron was coming out and i was going to the premier (met half the cast!) and decided that Ultron was a great name for a town!

I wanted something to remind me of my old town "Caketon". Caketon was like Swimmingbird941's (youtuber) Gooseton, which I was watching at the time. My new town is named Cupcake, after I tried to put Sugarcube but it didn't fit.

My town is called Fendar. When I bought and started the game about 2 months ago I asked my boyfriend (he bought me the game): "Whats gonna be my town name?", because I didn't came up with a catchy name. He said "Fender" (my guitars brand). But I misunderstood Fendar. I like Fendar better tho :)

My town is called Pineford and I literally just took 2 words and put them together and then chose which one sounded best...

Well, I named my village Loki, which is quite obviously a reference to the comic character xD.

Actually, honestly, I couldn't think of a town name. But Loki just sounded like a cool name for a village, you know? Like it had that cute ring to it, and it's an homage to not only one of my favorite comic characters, but to the amazing portrayal of him on screen by an actor I'm -so glad- was able to make a name for himself. Like I knew of him a bit from his work in Shakespeare stuff, but seeing Tom Hiddleston having a literal blast on screen playing my forever-loved God of Mischief? You bet he's getting a tiny little video game village named for him!

I haven't really themed the town around it or anything, but I did make "Team Loki" and "I <3 Loki" designs for my animals to wear to show their pride. Kid Cat, Rosie, and my now-moved Shari were all wearing those shirts and I thought it was absolutely adorable. Makes me feel like my animals really do love this place.

Plus if I ever do get to meet Tom, I'm toooootally telling him I named my village after him. No shame. No regrets.

Town Names for Each AC Game

ACNL Lunaria I wanted something that sounded cosmic/celestial and earthly at the same time. Since lunar refers to the moon and Lunaria is the name of a flower, it was the perfect town name.

ACGC Mercury I really don't know why I picked this name. I was thinking of astronomy a lot at the moment and I really like the name Mercury. Plus, it's this small yet beautiful planet named after the Roman god who is the patron god of many things and was considered a messenger to the gods. Since communication with your villagers is so fitting in this series, I found that detail fitting.

ACWW Serenity Ever seen Firefly or its movie Serenity? That's why I decided on this name even though I know it's pretty common. Actually, I think most - if not all - of my town names are common.

ACCF Dallas I recently went ahead and restarted my ACCF game and decided to name my new town after the city I was born in.

Pretty boring, eh?
