What are the origins of your town name

I went out and bought my ds came home unboxed, put on harry potter and played Pokemon X for a while. Then I put on the second film and started my town, I sat watching harry potter and the chamber of secrets while trying to think of a name, I got all the way to the part where

Harry and Ron go to see Aragog and Aragog says "Hagrid has never sent men into our hollow before."

and that is how I came up with the name Hollow and for those interested that is also what I did on my 21st birthday

My mother's side of the family is Polish, and my tattoo I recently got is Polish, so I decided to peek around some words to find a Polish word I like
Piękno is Polish for Beauty
I wanted to make a beautiful town, and what a perfect name to have
My Mayor is named Lilia, which is Polish for Lily (the relevance is that my pathways are lined with lilies)

My town of Voltaire is named after the dark comedy/ romoantic gothic musicians.
Both of them.
And Voltaire sounds like a nice name for a town, anyway.

My town is named Cinnabar after a Pokemon town. I'm a big Pokemon fan and I wanted a little piece of that world with me in ACNL ^_^

I think mine came from an AC town name generator because I'm super bad at coming up with nice town names. Thought it sounded nice. But I know of one other user here who has the same town name, whoopsie.

I named mine "Murasaki", which is Japanese for purple because it's my favorite color. Also, Japanese is cooler.

I can't remember how I came up with mine, I wanted something short and sweet .. I originally wanted Four Acres or something but there's too many letters so I shortened it to just Acre.

I named mine Nova because I love the way it sounds. I also love astronomy and 'nova' is part of the word supernova.

Mantadae, because back then, I was obsessed with manta rays... but it sounded weird, just being "Manta," so I added "dae" to the end of it to make it sound cool.

My favorite show, Yes Precure 5, has this item called the Dream Collet in it. I liked the ring of the word "Collet" and I stuck with that.

I named my town after the headquarters of the Inquisition in Dragon Age: Inquisition. ^^ Sometimes I wish I was more original and came up with my own name and own theme (room designs, etc.), but at the same time, it makes me happy being reminded of one of my other favorite games while playing this one. :]

My main town, Ruddyoak, is named after an Ent in an old Lord of the Rings computer game. (My mayor, Athelwyn, is named after a character in the same game.) The town is vaguely Lord of the Rings-themed.

My second town, Goblin, is named after the Goblin City in the movie Labyrinth, of course.
