What are some common acne things that you never bother with?

Heh, I do bother with Katrina so I can build her shop, I hate having Main Street half-ass finished.. once I get either hat though I don't really do it anymore.

Also yeah I've been really lazy with Shrunk lately, mainly because his jokes are so boring and I just want emotes I never use other than for the TPC lol

Nunnafinga
Oh wow, I totally forgot about those two.
I feel it's even sadder for Shrunk since after you learn all the emotes, he virtually has no purpose?

I still visit Katrina on Main Street every once in a while because I love her fortune telling animation and dialog.

I also talk to Shrunk every time I go to Club LOL on Saturdays to hear K.K. play. On a holiday or something, I still like to bring him something to eat just because I don't want him to be lonely. I'm weird like that.

LadyDestani
Not weird at all! It's a nice sentiment.
It'd be cool if he had some specific dialog when bringing something on holidays, like Brewster with Valentine's day.

Shrunk's wife refuses to feed him until that club of his starts bringing in some bells. True story, he says it in one of his jokes. I still can't get around to shaking fruit tree to give him stuff thou.

I don't really bother with turnips/the stalk market. Taking risks like that isn't my thing.

I rarely visit Club LOL; it has so much less appeal to me now that KK doesn't give you a physical copy of the first?last? song that you request, like it did in the GameCube version. I only have half of the emotes after 2 years of playing too, haha.

I never bothered building the left or right side room for my house...

and I don't do turnip trading, but that's partially because I'm an avid time traveler.

cool topic! haha I do a lot of weird stuff.

1. I dislike paths... I'd rather make flower paths and use clovers as walkways!

2. I am not very interested in filling my museum or encyclopedia.

3. I often decline my villager's requests. I don't want to catch fish/insects over and over again... sorry X.X

4. I've chopped down my island. the only thing I see it good for is making money.

5. I am not too worried about my PWP's being in the correct location. I mostly do what looks nice, to me! X)

6. I don't exactly have a town theme! if someone were to squint and be forced to choose a theme, it'd be pink though

I guess I do a lot differently than others... haha

I've seen a lot of people with dirt or clover paths, I myself even have them.
I don't have anything against tiles, I just feel it doesn't work right for my town.

oh I agree! I always see acnl as a game that encourages you to embrace the more "forest-y" vibe which the animal villagers have! I enjoy making my towns very habitual for my villagers. lots of flowers and trees! I like tiles, they work in certain towns, but just as you struggle, I do too!! I can never make put-down paths look good X_X

Actually, you do still get a copy of the first song you request from K.K. on Saturday nights when he's doing his acoustic show.

For sure, I really wish the next game would have default paths with variants that change with the seasons!
That I feel would certainly make them more natural-esque and needing less attention to make them look so.

I've never gotten one before :/ I tried to get Stale Cupcakes this way and nothing happened.
Might have been because someone was visiting my town at the time.

Things I don't care so much about:

-The stalk market. I once tried to follow it, but the steps of checking prices everyday and clogging my storage are too tedious to deal with.

-Fruit Hoarding. The fruit trees in my town are mainly decorations, and rarely do I shake fruit off of them.

-Designing carpets and wallpapers. I may try to design them someday, but the in-game wallpapers would always appear to work better, having actual borders and spacing. This is something I wish the next games could improve.

-Designing hats. Seriously, the hat models are too outdated compared to all the awesome accessories that were added. They need better models to work with.

-The Streetpass Home Area. I just don't have people around me playing the game, so it is always empty. Not to mention that random move-ins can occur if you get tagged. >.<

-Club LOL. I go there for K.K. Slider concerts and Shrunk emoticons, but that's it. I never felt compelled to listen to the DJ-ed songs, nor felt like dancing in there.

-Utilizing Shampoodle. I don't care much for the "Mii" makeup, and I don't bother unlocking the opposite gender's haircuts. I just test out the best hairstyle and eye color after a few visits, and once I'm satisfied, I rarely ever visit that place.

-Amiibo Cards. My DS can't read them, and they are borderline microtransactions to me - And I don't like microtransactions at all.

I'm not big on making flower hybrids. They look cool, certainly, but I'm not super interested in it. Designing clothing isn't high on my list either (with that said, I really did like making my own flag).

HistoryH22
Yeah, I don't really see a reason other than selling extras.
I'll keep one of each then maybe a couple more if the flower's holder looks good as a furniture item.

Since reading some of the other answers, I thought of a few more things I don't really bother with.

- Harvesting fruit. I see a lot of people with orchards and they harvest them regularly to sell. I use my fruit trees for decoration and only harvest them as needed if a villager asks for fruit. But I have several baskets saved in storage for those requests, so I mostly leave my fruit trees alone now.

- Making designs. I just flat out stink at this so I don't even try. I'll spend hours and days on the internet finding a good QR code versus trying to make my own. I did take a stab at my town flag and one other design because I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, but they are so bad in comparison to the other codes I scanned in. I would never try making clothing or paths when I fail at a simple flat design.

- Coffee. I don't drink coffee in real life so I never bother with it in game. I got the Roost and ordered enough coffee to open up the ability to work there, and I haven't sat down in the cafe since. Also, since getting all the Brewstoids, I rarely work the cafe anymore either. I do go in to chat with any villagers or NPCs who may be in there, but that's it.

Fruit seems like just an early game way to make some decent money, other than that, I guess people still get use out of selling perfects in other peoples' towns. Stills seems like more work than it's worth to me, takes up a decent amount of space also.
Ditto with the coffee stuff too, I only ever visit if I have an initiative or if it's Valentine's day.

After listening to 50 random K.K. songs to work on my badge, I realized that I hardly go to Club LOL now that I’ve completed my songs portion of the catalog.

I've never bothered getting a Club Tortimer membership. Playing with randoms online didn't really sound appealing to me, then after hearing some weird and crazy stories about it has put me off forever lol.

I've never really gone hard out for the badges, apart from the bugs/fish/diving badges. There's no way I'll be able to complete some of them, namely the streetpass badge. It's just not common enough here to be able to complete it.

I never felt the need to make perfectly decorated, themed or perfect layout towns...until I came here and realised how hardcore some people go with decorating and perfecting their towns lol. My first town will never be perfect, but I'm trying a little harder with my second town.

I've never bothered with turnips either. I knew from the start I wouldn't have the commitment to checking prices each day to make a profit lol. I keep meaning to try it someday though.

I haven't bothered completing my shopping catalogue. I didn't really try from the start so I didn't get into the habit of buying things I didn't necessarily want. It can stay 80% complete lol.

I don't think I've completed all the shift work at Brewsters either? Or rather, got all the gyroids from Brewster. I very rarely visit there too. Nor do I visit the police station.

I think the list could go on really :p

Turnips. I've never bothered with that stuff or attempted it.

Completing the catalog.

Designing clothing. (Though I want too one day.)

Online play.
