What are color 1 and color 2 of furniture?

I've always been wondering what the two colors meant for furniture. Like the small spotlight for example. Color 1 is yellow, color 2 is black. It makes sense since the outside of it is black and the light inside is yellow.
But which color is used? Let's say Im trying to get a color bonus for a room an I'm looking for certain colored furniture. How do the double colored furniture work?

As far as I'm aware, the only use is in feng shui. Items which have at least one of their colours as red, green or yellow should go in the corresponding area of the room. If it has two feng shui colours, it needs to go in the overlap area for those two colours.

Do you mean the HHA color bonus that Lyle talks about? I am not sure, but I'm assuming that it would be the #1 color that the HHA uses.
