I was trying to capture Ho-oh (level 70). I got that sucker down to 1hp and it was paralyzed. Still, it would NOT be caught. O_O

But the point of this thread is that it used "Struggle". How is that possible? It already used four other moves. Besides, that doesn't sound like a very legendary move. Also, the smart one killed itself with the recoil. Derrrrp. The battle had been going on forever, maybe it got bored. XD

Does anybody know why this happened? '_'

I know right
When I first saw the design I was like, how did they allow this design to be in the game knowing about the massive eyebleeds that would occur. Those monsters. D<

DOES NOBODY KNOW THE SECRET OF STRUGGLE? ;A;

Edit: AHAAA! Thanks Rob. =)
For some reason that creeps me out. It like committed suicide.

Struggle happens when all moves PP is out and is unable to use any attacks.
qft.

Yeah, true story. If you want to catch it easier use sleep though, it makes the othe pokemon use less PP, and it's better for catching.

Thanks, that's a good tip! ^^

Unfortunately it kept using Safeguard when I tried to use Yawn. And if I could land Yawn it would wake after like a turn. =|

I think I was just having some serious bad luck. XD;

Dusk Balls were a charm for Lu- Oh, it's Ho-Oh. :P I chucked Ultra Balls and spammed Hypnosis even though it didn't help in the end.

when a pokemon runs out of PP out of all its other moves (it has 0 pp in all moves now), if it chooses to attack, it uses the move struggle. all pokemon do this

for more info, go on bulbapedia and search 'struggle'

Thanks! Someone already answered, but the article was very informative. =D

I always wondered what happened when you ran out of PP. It's so satisfying to know. XD

Odd, because I ran out of PP for everything once, and so did the enemy, yet nothing happened. Yet that was back in the original G/S/C games. Did it still work then? Oh, and I was fighting a trainer.

That's weird. According to the article I was referred to, it should have worked. :o
