Weird to return?

After seeing npcs on island is it odd to return to new leaf? Are they clones? Is it a different timeline? Do they have access to a teleportation device?

What do y’all wonder while playing both?

I have never honestly thought about this at all. I always assume that the current game is where the current timeline is and me playing old games have nothing to do with it. Kinda like going back to play Pokemon Gold while Pokemon Sword and Shield are out.

i’m about to come back soon and it’s not just NPC’s for me, i have pretty much same 4 out of 10 villagers so i’ll tell you how i feel about that later
