Not sure how to word it properly, but I'll just say what happened.

Moe's moving away tomorrow, and I still talk to him to check that he is.
Today when I talked to him, he said something like "aww man packing's hard because I keep getting distracted by the TV!", so I picked the option that asks him to leave, which was "Get packing!" (I forgot what the other option was).
He then said something like "Hey that sounds like you don't want me here at all! (correct) I'm an acquired taste, you can't appreciate me without spending time with me, I guess the move's off."

I was pretty confused after this, and since I had just booted up my game I quit without saving in case Moe decided to stay.

Can villagers stay even when you pick the option that asks them to leave? :o

Sometimes they stay even if you ask them to leave, that happened to me about a week ago with Nibbles.
You can reset after that happens and they'll ping you again. ouo

Yeah, they can change their minds. Sydney changed her mind the other day when I wished her "Good luck" with packing, so I just reset without saving so that she would still move.

AH okay I see; I never had that with Cherry, I thought I was just being overly rude to Moe lol.

Thanks! :)

Yep, that happens. If you're not such good friends with a villager, sometimes they will decide to stay and get to know you better?

If they decide to stay and you quit without saving, you don't *have* to wait for their ping. Just don't talk to them and they'll leave in five days, or however many days they have left. If you don't ever give them a chance to ping, you can initiate a conversation if you want and they won't bring up moving. It's after they agree to move that any conversation could cause them to change their minds.

Sorry but he already moved! D: I TT'd to get him out faster because I missed Rosie from the campsite, and didn't want to repeat that. DX

This has happened to me too. It got so frequent that I made a rule not to talk to a villager again until the day they'd be in boxes just to avoid that issue.

this happened to me before! I hurried up and closed my game and by doing that I resetted that option and he said that he was leaving :D

Sometimes villagers just randomly change their minds, mostly because they want to become better friends with you. If you really want to get rid of them, you can just reset like you did. :) I don't think it's a glitch, it's just a random thing the game does.

I don't get why they do that. I only had that happen twice. Once with Bangle in April and Skye in August. I just think that's stupid because you are the Mayor after all.
