Not sure how to word it properly, but I'll just say what happened.
Moe's moving away tomorrow, and I still talk to him to check that he is.
Today when I talked to him, he said something like "aww man packing's hard because I keep getting distracted by the TV!", so I picked the option that asks him to leave, which was "Get packing!" (I forgot what the other option was).
He then said something like "Hey that sounds like you don't want me here at all! (correct) I'm an acquired taste, you can't appreciate me without spending time with me, I guess the move's off."
I was pretty confused after this, and since I had just booted up my game I quit without saving in case Moe decided to stay.
Can villagers stay even when you pick the option that asks them to leave?
