weird fortune situation

before i try to find the money rock, i always shake trees to see if i get 200 bells instead of 100. that's because it would mean that i have good wealth luck. that happened yesterday, so i waited for the fortune teller shop to open so that i could find out my lucky item.

the first thing katrina said was that there was a great misfortune attempting to come down on me. that was confusing, since i figured the 200 bells indicated good luck despite katrina indicating bad luck. she went on to say that i did, in fact, have bad wealth luck. i figured since i'd gotten 200 bells from the tree, i was probably wearing my lucky item. katrina confirmed that i was, saying how i'd be fine because of it. the only issue is, i wasn't. the lucky item was pants, and i was wearing a skirt. specifically, my outfit was bear cap, thick glasses, suspenders shirt, kilt, checkered socks, and brown slip-ons (or loafers, i forget).

even if i was wearing pants, i thought it would just neutralize my luck, not make it positive. from what i know, 200 bells indicates good luck, 100 bells is normal, and less than 100 is bad luck. that's why i think it's weird, but i could be missing something. am i? or was katrina just having a weird day?

(for the record i got about 16,100 bells from the rock yesterday.)

that's weird. maybe if your character is female and wearing a skirt, the game accepts that as well...? no idea

I've gotten 32,000 from the rock a few times. Usually when the objective says to hit the rock 8 times for an extra special surprise.

On a regular day, I get 16,000, and on bad days, only 8,000.

As for Katrina, she's a fraud.
Selling a ridiculous hat for 10k, that can be later ordered for 240 bells.

I never go to her.
I use the Lovely Phone, and it doesn't cost me a cent. ^_^
