weird club tortimer question

today on club tortimer some nice person gave me a patch of blue roses, but then directly afterwards, someones internet died (there were three of us on the island). im curious, do you guys know if like, i guess blue rose baiting on the islands are a thing? do you think they cut their internet on purpose to mess with me or like...... did i just get very very unlucky hahah both of these ideas make me although in retrospect im not sure if i could trust that the roses were legit or not. the person seemed so nice though? so if it was actually a trick, it wasnt very funny or creative at all

I mean it's a possibility. I don't know how they could had brought roses to the island in the first place, unless they gave you one blue rose that they were holding as an accessory. The island doesn't let you bring your affects with you.

also, why would they waste time connecting to the island and talking to people just to trick you?? it's just a blue rose.

It just sounds like someone's internet messed up, I wouldn't overthink it.

I don't know the answer to your question, but from what I have read here on TBT, one of the first rules of going to Club T is to never pick up anything someone else puts down. It is to avoid the possibility of bringing a contaminated (hacked) item back to your own town. There are those who do believe this and those who don't. My question is: why take a chance of possibly crashing your town? What item would be worth that?

I totally agree with Nenya, its not entirely a popular view. Yes things you are given may well be OK, hacked or not (they may have just hacked the code in, of a legit item) - BUT & its a big but, there are items that can cause issues (even if they look legit) so personally I would not take the risk.
You can bring one rose across legit (as Jon_Snow says, in the mouth), so to offer you more than one, they have to have been hacked.
Hacked blue roses apparently will not breed more blue roses, just white ones.
I would take it that losing the internet connection was a lucky break.
