Weeding Day

Is it true that, during weeding day, you can only obtain 4 out of 12 items in your own town?
So making new villagers each time won't get you a complete set?

I think so. People on this forum will probably let people into their towns so everyone can get some of the furniture set

Yes! 4 if you have 4 characters.
Leif only gives you one item per character, sadly.

If you unlock the topiary PWPs there is another way to get the weeding day set. Once you unlock the PWPs if there is no weeds in your town, create a new character, (that is, if there isn't already 4 characters in your town), and talk to Leif once you get your house put down. He will give you a piece of that series, and then you can drop the piece in front of your mayor's house or wherever you want to pick it up. Then delete the character, and repeat the process. That's exactly what I said. But apparently you'll only be able to obtain 4 items of the set in your own town even if you make a new villager, unless someone can show otherwise.

In one town the mayor got the topiaries and prizes. Leif said the mayor would talk to Isabelle about the topiaries.

In my other town the mayor got nothing and no mention of the topiaries. The other players all got prizes.
The next day I went to city hall and the Topiaries were unlocked.
Not what happened. I'm not a fan of the Topiaries. They look like the green stuff they use for keeping flowers fresh.
I only have the tulip ones in my town.
