As I looked around, a sense of pride and accomplishment filled me. Wisteria was finally complete and exactly how I had imagined it since I had first moved here as mayor! Everything was laid out perfectly! The path that wound throughout Wisteria was elegant and lovely. There were benches to sit and look at the scenic views with a friend. A lighthouse shined out brightly to light the way of any boats that traveled the coast. There was a zen garden, a flower clock, streetlights, beautiful bridges, fountains, a Japanese Rock Garden, a pyramid, and many other places to bring peace to your soul. It was delightful! That wasn't the best part though! Living in Wisteria was the most amazing collection of villagers ever seen! When I first moved to Wisteria, I knew that I would love all of my people, and that some would stay while others would chose to move on to other places. I had no idea that eventually there would be this perfect community living in harmony. There was Stitches and Chester talking about what they would have for a snack. Not far away Lionel and Gladys talked quietly together. Turning my head I saw Tia happily whistling a tune as she strolled along. A door opened and Bam appeared ready to excercise. Then I saw Pango and Pekoe on their way into Re-Tail to see what offerings were there today. And there was Roscoe muttering to himself (he pretends to be all tough and cranky, but he's really a marshmallow inside!) And last but not least.....Ankha! She was sitting in the sun warming her fur.And I was their mayor! Surely no one could dream up a better village than this! Then I heard an odd buzzing noise...was it a bee? No...my perfect village began to fade away...I awoke to reality. It had all been a dream! I had certainly made a good start on all of the public works projects, but there was still much to do! And while some of the villagers I had dreamed about were already living in Wisteria, others were not....sigh....

I got started with my day, digging up fossils and watering flowers....but the dream would not leave me alone! One villager in particular stayed in my mind's eye and would not leave. Unable to be productive at all, I finally decided to visit Katrina (the resident fortune teller) to see if she had any advice for me. She gazed into her crystal ball and uttered he magic words. I couldn't quite make them out.... suddenly I seemed to be floating somewhere in the cosmos. Katrina then began to speak: "Ankha is destined to live in Wisteria, but in order for this to happen you must go and seek her out! She will not find her way alone!" A large flash nearly blinded me and then I was back in Wisteria. I knew now what I had to do!

I set off on a long journey looking for Ankha. I looked everywhere. I would hear a rumor that she was living in this town or that town, but by the time I got there she was gone. I began to lose hope, then one day someone told me that she was living in the town of Vezyan. The familiar excitement began to course through me...I tried to restrain myself because I didn't want to be disappointed yet again. I knew in my heart that I would keep trying no matter how many disappointments I suffered though. My dream town was just too perfect to settle for anything less! Hope springs eternal! I set out for Vezyan to try once again with a song in my heart... what was that tune anyway??? I had to find out! It would make the perfect song for my dream town!

The train pulled into Vezyan station and I stepped off and into a truly lovely town. I was tired, but the sight of this wonderful town poured fresh energy into me! I felt a worm of fear deep inside though...even if Ankha was here, how could she possibly leave this place? I pressed on with the thought that all I could do was try. My first stop was town hall where I met with Mayor Ren. I gave the Mayor my compliments on Vezyan and how lovely it was. Then I tentatively asked if Ankha was a current resident. I held my breath until Mayor Ren said "Why yes, she is!" I slowly let out my breath and took another deep one before I asked "Do you think she might consider moving to my town? That is if she can ever bring herself to leave this place!" Mayor Ren laughed and said "She's already planning to move, but hadn't decided on a new town yet. She has had several offers already. She certainly is popular! You should go talk with her and tell her about Wisteria. She is pretty mysterious and her decisions are sometimes based on factors you or I wouldn't necessarily understand."

After receiving the directions to her house, I started walking. The anxiety built higher and higher. Then I knocked on her door. "Come in," she said. And so I did. I suddenly felt incredibly shy, so I stared and the boxes around her house. She really was moving! Stammering at first, I explained that I was Mayor Cherie and I would love to have her come to live in my village of Wisteria. I went on to explain about my dream and all of the dream villagers that were in it and how perfect everything was. Greeted by silence, I looked up...Ankha was looking at me with an indecipherable expression. "What is it," I asked, "Did I say something wrong?" She smiled and said: "Not at all! I'm just surprised to finally see you in person. I had the same dream you just described a long time ago, and since then I've been searching for this mysterious town. I wasn't able to divine the name of the town or the name of the mayor, you see. I've been moving from town to town searching for awhile now. My face burst into a wide grin! "I've been searching for you too! Now that we have finally met, would you do me the honor of moving to Wisteria and helping me build it into the perfect town that we both dreamed of? You will never have to move again!" She smiled back and nodded her head. "I just have to finish packing! I'll be there soon!"

As I walked back to the train station, I couldn't stop smiling! Finally, my dreamie Ankha would be moving to Wisteria! I was one step closer to that perfect little village I had dreamed of! Now....I wonder where I can find the others...."
