We got a huge rainstorm from the hurricane.

An onslaught of rain, so much it flooded the school parking lot which both submerged and floated cars. We got out of school early, well, kind of. We didn't have classes after 11:00 and we just waited for news. They ferried us from the school to the church up on the hill where we waited for our parents.

It floods a lot where I live too. I think back in 2004 we got a huge flood from hurricane Ivan, and I live no where near the coast. They cancelled school at noon, but I was stuck there until 6:00 PM.

I remember that too. That huge rainstorm hit where I live also. I think we got 9 inches of rain within that day. They had to evacuate the main part of my town with boats during that storm.

@cuth13: Yeah. We got out of school for like two days, and the Cumberland River flooded, like, my whole town. Stores are still fixing the damages. And a few weeks ago, there was some more flooding in Nashville, although not as bad as in May,
