I'm looking for ways to make my town better. I don't have a dream address as of now, but I'm hoping people will share their creative ideas with me! ^.^ Example: Certain public work projects, lots of flowers, etc. Basically things that a town needs. Have fun sharing! ~

Paths paths paths!! I personally think paths make a town look 100x more neat and prettier; as well you'll need a nice palette for your town <3 using flowers the colors in that palette will help it look a lot better, as well as bushes along your paths! and of course I'm a really big fan of the flower-related public works projects ;w;

Agreed! It's easier to get to places ^^

1. Paths
2. Hybrids
3. Structure
4. Awesome villagers
5. Public Work Projects
6. Structure
7. Structure

Seriously. You want structure in your town. Organization is everything.

I actually kind of disagree with that. I like the way my town looks and the only organised thing about it really is the roads, lol, and they aren't even consistently shaded. Also, I didn't plot reset, which I only regret because VIC IS IN THE WAY OF MY WOODEN BRIDGE
Personally, colour is the big thing. Have all the fruit types and toooons of trees and flowers. Centralise your best PWP and plant around it. That's my motto!

^Very much this. Color coordination is everything. If you want to do lots of multi-color hybrids and flowers I would say choose a neutral colored path such as brown or white. my favorite pwps are fountains and I also like the windmill and lighthouse. Putting flowers and bushes along the path REALLY makes it pop like you wouldn't believe. But really a lot of it is personal preference. :)

You contradicted yourself when you brought up plot resetting.

My town looks messy because I don't plot reset! Aha!
Nether-less I like it although it is lacking structure. ; n ;

I had a ton of paths in my Wild World copy and eventually I hated having it because it felt less natural. I tend to just go to the island tournaments and fill my pockets with flowers, then I replant them all over my town. It's much quicker than buying them and I've had hybrids sprout very quickly.

I've started using mushrooms, half-chopped bamboo shoots, & special tree stumps to add that extra ~ somethin to my town's paths and gardens

Eh, it's all personally preference. My town layout is pretty structured, it has a pattern path and it's sectioned with types of flowers. My girlfriend's town is pathless and open and there's no plot resetting. I think her town has a more "natural" look to it, which I also enjoy.

Mostly the thing is just some form of organization. Even if it's one of those really foresty nature towns with trees filling up most of the space, and mushrooms and clovers everywhere, it all has a sense of belonging, more so than some random flower fields and PWPs strewn about. It gives it an atmosphere, a character. A town needs personality.

(And you don't need "good" villagers to do that, btw. I don't mean to bash people who like popular villagers, but it's a little more interesting to see new faces other than the usual Julian or Merengue or Marshall etc etc.)

But that's not very specific, sorry, haha.
