Watering the Flowers!!

Hey guys! I'm new to this site, but I've been looking around and I already love it!
Anyways, I was wondering what y'all do in regards to watering your flowers? I recently took off the beautiful town ordinance after getting the golden watering can and I've been watering all the flowers everyday. I still get wilted flowers that I know I watered though! I read that watering will revive wilted flowers and encourage hybrid production, but other than that is there any point in watering all the flowers? What do you do in regards to watering your flowers? Thanks! -Moonie

Well I have beautiful town up and only water flowers I want to breed. Before I watered every flower. It was tedious and I found wilted flowers all the time.

I only find four or five typically, though I'm sure if I stopped watering all the flowers it would be more. I don't neccasarily mind, but if I can save some time and work on other things that would be awesome too lol.

Welcome to the site! I'm sure you'll love it here! Most of the people are friendly and generous, and really helpful.

In regards to watering, I usually just have the beautiful town ordinance in place, and I only water flowers that I plan on breeding. Other than reviving wilted flowers and breeding, the only thing it does is make them sparkle and appear slightly brighter. It's hard to see the difference, but there's a slight change in color when they're watered, and they'll sometimes sparkle. Otherwise, watering them doesn't really do anything.

Hey, welcome to the site! about watering the plants, I have the beautiful town ordinance, so I rarely have to water them. But I do occasionally water them when I want to reproduce more of the white carnations, since i'm going for a town themed after the colour white so I need quite a lot of white flowers. The process is going pretty slowly but at least white carnations can be breeded with other carnations to reproduce more. I think when I eventually do get the golden watering can I won't take my ordinance off though. I think it's easier to get flowers to breed when you have the beautiful town ordinance on.

Welcome to the forums and I hope you enjoy your stay. I have the beautiful town ordinance in place. I only water my hybrids that I want to produce more of. When I used to play everyday it's one of the things I did, watering. I did remove the beautiful town ordinance once when I got a hold watering can aswell but so I could get golden roses. When I got enough I changed the ordinance back again.

Well I took off the Beautiful Town ordinance because there are some badges you get that aren't easy when you have that in place (The weed badge being one example). I don't mind going through and watering the wilted ones and the ones I want to breed, I just wanted to make sure that wilting was random and not an indicator that you didn't water the day before. It doesn't take me too long to water them all now, but I want to expand my flowers by a lot! So I was just curious if watering them everyday would prevent the wilted ones or if it was basically random.

I believe wilting is random and will happen even if you water them the day before without the Beautiful Town Ordinance in place.

When I haven't had it on, I get flowers wilting everyday even if I water them all the day before.
So it's not indicative of whether you watered them or not the day before.
At least in my experience.

I always have the Beautiful Town Ordinance on and only water my flowers to get my hybrids.
Sometimes I water the other flowers just because the sparkle effect is really pretty.
But normally I only water the ones I want to breed because I want them to breed.
I feel like if I don't water any other flowers, it'll give me higher chances of my hybrids breeding.
That's not true, unless I was watering other flowers that could breed.
I just think it helps even though, I know it doesn't lol.

I guess I'll just have to see if not watering them everyday increases my random wilted ones. I want to get hybrids eventually, so your way of thinking may just improve my chances

Tip: this may just be me, but i think the Silver watering can is much more efficient then the golden watering can. I just think the silver one takes less time to water the flowers, but for some reason theres that long animation for the golden watering can.

Welcome! The only reasons to water flowers are to: create hybrids/more flowers, stop them from wilting, and make them sparkly for a bit.

I didn't even know flowers could wilt under the Beautiful town ordinance I guess none of my hybrids have wilted, so I just didn't notice.

What happens when a flower wilts and you don't water it right away? Does it die?

SummerHime, they don't wilt under the Beautiful Town ordinance. I took it off! I wanted to use a different one and also get more weeds so that I can get closer to the weed pulling badge! If you don't water it the day it's wilted, it will disappear the next day.

Glad I'm not the only weird one.
I typically try to only water two sets of hybrids (for example today I watered my blue roses and purple tulips I think).
I might try to move my other flowers that seem to be popping up flowers even though I didn't water them.
I have flowers mapping out where I want my path ways and some are the same flowers (roses) touching each other, but I Thought if you didn't water them they wouldn't breed.
That doesn't seem to be the case, so I might rearrange my pathway flowers to prevent unwanted flower breeding.
NO BREEDING FOR YOU FLOWERS.

Basically I'm just experimenting because I don't actually know what I'm doing and I just found out you can do so many cool things with your town and now I have no idea what I want to do or how people have the patience lol... much less doing it with multiple towns!!!

I'm also experimenting.
I took a break from the game and just got back into it.
That's actually why I joined this forum so I could have an active ACNL community.

But ; I know flowers randomly pop up, I just hate how they breed even if they're touching.
So I'm going to be rearranging things so that they can't just randomly breed without my approval.
I want to get a lot more blue roses and maybe try to sell some.
Also doesn't help when villagers place the same flowers next to each other and water other ones.
STOP IT. I DIDN'T APPROVE OF THIS.

But I've read a lot of different things from a lot of different sources and it seems like a lot of the things out there are just theory and not a lot of people actually test things in this game. Or at least not that I can find. I know some people on this forum have tested some things but not a lot from what I've found anyway.

How cool would it be if there was like a secret hybrid no one found?

If you're planning to have any flowers whatsoever other than random ones here and there, you need that Beautiful Town ordinance.

Thanks to the ordinance, I can now flood my beaches with flowers! Yeah, I run in my town so random ones would get trampled.
