Wasted opportunity

More than that I wish that at least we could play mini games and get some kind of rewards or reaching levels or special dialogues with villagers or being able to gift them like the card of different mini games etc

That would be really cute, my switch would probably be blue and yellow, or purple and red (I like switching my splatoon ones around, I like to mix my color combos :D )

Mini-games were so fun in new leaf, I would love to have a little game within a game (game-ception if you will)!!

I wished we had the mini games!!

In New Leaf, you could play one game on your in-game 3DS (which had different limited edition variations if you wanted) or your in-game Wii console to play another game!

There were 2 different games (a fruit matching game and the Desert Island Escape)!

I was so disappointed when I tried interacting with my Switch and there was nothing.

At least you can get the LE ACNH Switch in it? But yeah, being able to customized the Switch would have been a neat feature.

I thought about this very early on when I found out you could customize your Switch in-game. A definite wasted opportunity is not allowing us to play classic Nintendo games on them. In the first Animal Crossing game there were different NES' you could get, and each one had their own game. There was Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Wario's Woods, just to name a few. I guess because we have an eShop, these classic games being accessible in Animal Crossing doesn't matter. Still.

I honestly never thought about this until I saw the thread. While I do own the blue/red Switch and therefore technically don't need a customize option, as I basically got a in-game version of my console already, it still would have been a nice touch to customize it. Perhaps they didn't add this option because there are too may combinations of Joy-Con colors and they could never offer all variations? Otherwise, I wish the Switch would also have mini-games just like the in-game Wii U had in NL had. Also a wasted opportunity there.

I wish we could use our in-game switches to actually do something other than decorate, in previous games there were all sorts of mini-games and it just made the whole thing feel more immersive

I want to customize mine with the pink and neon green, like what I got right now, but nope. Closest thing I can do is the gray ones. It would be great to have the other ones for sure.

In Pokemon Sword/Shield, the Switch in the main character's room has the colored joycons that are docked in your console. That would be pretty cool if it could detect that like it does in Pokemon S/S

kinda related, but I wish there were entertainment centers / tv tables in the game since I want to put the ACNH switch next to a tv or under a wall-mounted tv but the lowtables are too low for that
