Wasn't there a way to make custom paths have different sound effects in The Animal Crossing Direct?

I could have sworn I saw this but I still haven't unlocked it in my game. The only reason I don't use "The Path" custom path on my island is because I hate the sound effect for custom paths. Or did I get it confused with the Soundscape thing inside houses?

There is no such thing, even in the datamine. You definitely got it confused with something else entirely.

I wish that existed, but it only works for regular paths and certain floors in homes.

That would be so cool if that was a thing, but no unfortunately it's not something they put in the update.

I think you're confusing it with the Happy Home Paradise update where you can add sounds inside the home.
