Warning Thread

About the villagers being permanently in the void?
Barold moved out of my town several months ago, and turned up as a random move in in my friends' town today. (Barold has said he came from my town) He hasn't even had the game two weeks :")

Might have already been mentioned - warning category

If you dig up a time capsule you buried at some point for a villager, it goes straight to your mail pockets. Not knowing, duh, I opened the capsule. Villager got very mad knowing I had already looked inside. To me, the instructions were either not clear or as usual I went too fast. Take unopened capsule to villager.

I still for the life of me don't get why people think that you can put the game on two different SD cards and have two copies. In what world would Nintendo ever let someone get a game for free like that? So many people have lost their towns, when all it takes is a tiny google search. :|

I never trust in CT because its not safe
I kinda agree with the void part because I have noticed bob's catchphase is diff. -w-

Call me crazy I kinda freaked out becquse of the "warning thread" and other stuff -w-;

May seem to be a minor thing, but don't shoot down balloon presents over tiles or thick plots of flowers. They vanish. Also, placing too many tiles around trees will absorb their fruit.

All learned by me the hard way...

BTW...GREAT thread!

(don't shoot a balloon over a bridge either, or near the water! It was funny when my character made a shocked face when the present dropped in the water!)

Rolling a snowball over stone (bridges, around the train station, the event plaza, around Re-Tail, etc) will shrink your snowball.

-Don't try to create multiple towns on different SD Cards if you have the digital version of the game because you WILL corrupt your save data and lose your town!

So if you have a hard copy of the game, are you able to make multiple towns on different SD cards? Or does this also apply to hard copy games that the save data will be corrupted?

Haven't found a clear answer on the web about this one.

If you have the hard copy, you don't need the SD card for anything but pictures. The cartridge version saves on the cartridge.

-When you roll your snowball over places with no snow it shrinks. Which includes paths, because there will be no snow in places where there would be no grass.

This is completely untrue. I roll my snowballs almost exclusively over my paths and they grow. They will shrink if they hit a patch under the path that is bare, but if it's got grass or snow under it, it will grow.

Don't plant bushes or trees right beside houses or PWPs. They won't grow, and will die out in the next few days.

It's probably obvious to everyone else, but when I was just starting out I was dumb and planted my single perfect fruit right beside my house. I watched it wilt the next day :c

Don't worry you re not the only one. Me too.

I just want to clarify that it's when you roll your snowball over places with no snow it shrinks. Which includes paths, because there will be no snow in places where there would be no grass.
I'm not writing to correct you, I just want to make sure that there is no confusion :)

I'm guessing you mean natural dirt paths don't allow snowmen to be created. This one just had the nerve to be created on my paths.

Could someone link me to an explanation, or give me one about this:

-If you have 8 villagers and adopt one, don't adopt the next at the same time. Make sure you see their plot before you adopt the next villager.

What is meant with "plot"? </noob question>

Great and informative thread btw!

No, I'm talking about the snowballs :) Snowpeople melt gradually over 4 days regardless of where you've put them. Or much, much faster if they're too close to something else.

Plot means the little enclosure that appears when someone new is moving into your town, which will turn into a house the next day.
