Warning Thread

Alright, I'm going to make two sections:

Things here are confirmed things that are proven true. Example: Grass deteriorates under pathways.

Things here are things that need to be confirmed or proven true. Example: Voided villagers are gone forever. That might not be true - but if 15 people say it is and have proof, it gets moved.

How is that?

Jogging counts with grass wear. By jogging, I'm referring to going as fast as you can without pressing the b button. It's when your arms just go behind you instead of back and forth. This explains alot about why my town's wasn't growing back after I stopped running around. I have a theory (<-- keyword here) about the paths preventing wear that would explain the discrepancy in people's experiences: paths could protect from jogging damage, but not from running damage. Unfortunately, I can't test this right now as I have precious few large grass spots in my town now. If I can get a second copy, I'll definitely test it.

You can get Blathers to assess several fossils at once and you can donate several items at once

@Zanessa: Looks great to me.

Also, I can confirm the Multiple Fossil Assesment by Blathers as I have seen it happen in my game.
I can also confirm the Multiple Donation as it has also happened in my game.

Reminder, My town is very new so anything that I can confirm is from actual game play scenarios.

Warning Do not soak your animal crossing game in liquid nitrogen.

Bahahahhahaha what the heck… thanks for the warning. I almost did this.

Getting a villager from someone and campsite in the SAME DAY will cause the villager to glitch. No house plot, but they're on your map. [0/15 can confirm this]

Make that 1/15. It creates a 'ghost house' and there's nothing you can do about it.

Phew! Thanks so much for that warning! I'll be sure to keep my game AWAY from my tank of liquid nitrogen in the living room. That's so scary because I was just thinking about doing this too...wow...crisis averted...

This is a really great thread. It definitely helps to know some of the things to watch out for!

I need to bump this for another warning, and I've given this in already.

JUST BECAUSE YOU HAVE 8 VILLAGERS DOES NOT MEAN ONE WILL NOT MOVE IN AT ANY TIME.

I think the warning was that Sticking your 3DS or your Game Cartridge into Liquid Nitrogen will cause it to turn to an ice like mass and become Very Break-able.
It also makes the cartridge/3ds wet so you wouldn't be able to use either one ever again.

Yes, it might have been that they thought it up as a 'joke of a warning' to try to get reactions from people.
However it is a very good warning for a very real issue.
Though most people can't get their hands on Liquid Nitrogen.

While I've never had anyone try to scam me on the islands, I have had several "errors" due to someones wifi glitching. What I've noticed is that anything I've put into the island box is still there after the error. I would propose that if someone is being held captive to place the items they want to save into the box and turn off their wifi since that will trigger an error.

The down side is that I dont think you keep any medals earned.

Have you played any island tours before the 'error' screen happened?

Since the 'Error' in Wi-fi is somewhat random.
I find if you played an island tour than got than 'Error' afterwards that your boxed items save but your medals do not.

I have, but I don't keep track of my medal count so I wouldn't know if they carry over after an error is triggered. It's nice to know others have used this technique to their benefit. Cheers!

I dont know if much people know this but...
DO NOT Plant a flower when a villager is doing a thinking pose if that villager plants a flower on top of yours it will be that flower.
(At least it was just a cosmos when this happened ^)
