Void villagers

Greetings lovely community

Does anybody know how void villagers work? I‘m just confused

First, I never invite villagers. I like the randomness of moving ins way more. But I get always villagers from another town.

The weird thing is, I got Cole today from my friends town who moved out on April 25th.
After Cole he had 2 other villagers who moved out - Raymond and Agnes. Agnes was the most recent one on 4th July. Why I got Cole over Raymond or Agnes?
Is there any way to avoid these void villager move ins? I really want to focus on completly random villagers and want to play with my friends. Hope someone can help!

I don't think anyone has figured out a way to avoid villagers (other than keeping 10 villagers on island and going island hopping/adoption to avoid random move ins) and how to clear the void yet. It's pretty much still a mystery for NH unlike NL.

So basically I've found that the void seems to keep villagers there indefinitely. I had Octavian move out more than a month ago and he moved into my friend's island a week ago. It also seems to be first in first out. It's annoying because I don't want villagers moving in from random people's islands I've traded with.

Aaaw thats too bad. I hope they will fix this somehow.
