Yes I've been coy over what I've said because the information doesn't seem to be widely available and its definitely best its kept that way - its probably around on tumbler or twitter but I don't use those sites.
Crashing - some hacked towns can make your game crash, its probably from hacked towns that allow you up onto main street and possibly into shops. I've no time currently to look for links. You don't lose your town, just your last play. I thought it was relatively common knowledge.

On balance its probably best it is made known, at least its a forewarning.
Edit: Nintendo could remove the ability to visit dream addresses. Hence my not really wanting to post. But its on reddit and reddit is a public forum. Players who want to cause problems for others probably already know about it.
