Visiting other people's towns!

The one thing i hate about visiting people's towns is when, after a trade, you wait for them to end. And it literally feels like you're waiting forever, while at the same time you're wondering if you should just leave by the train incase they think you're being a little weird and refusing to leave :c I hate it, it makes me feel so awkward.

Another thing is that I always feel like they're expecting me to steal something, and silently waiting to call me out on it x.x. I know I get really paranoid because I have so much stuff littered across my town, but everyone on here is so trustworthy. Once, when I was picking up a few items from someone's station, I accidentally picked up a basket of perfect apples, bc they were right next to the items I'd ordered, and the person was like "put it back please that's not yours!!" and I got so scared because I thought I was going to get a negative rating xD

Idk, I just feel so under pressure when visiting someone cx Thats why I prefer doing trades in my town, haha.
Does anyone else feel like this?

A lot of people wait for you to leave i think because when you end session, I've heard it doesn't count towards badge totals or getting the train station upgrades.

Or if you're just laying down money, sometimes they are doing other things

It makes me nervous either way to be honest. I can never tell which method of leaving the other person prefers. Sometimes I end without saying so if I'm on a time crunch.

That is why I like trades being short sweet and quick...it is nothing personal..like it isn't you it is me! It just makes me feel so worried and scared that is why I hardly do trades lol

When I was doing a IGB to TBT trade I picked up the flowers lining their train stations cobblestone a few times as a misclick, but instantlyput them back obviously. I always felt scared they were gonna scream in case they thought I was trying to steal xD

Im such a slow texter, they usually end session while im still trying to get out my Thanks and Goodbyes, lolz!

I have accidentally picked up stuff thanks to lag. I was super nervous too, but I put it right back and they weren't even in the frame. If someone did that in my town, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt and give them time to put it back. I wouldn't say anything unless they actually left with it, and then I'd PM them asking if they'd come back and give it back. I haven't had a bad experience on this site, but there are also plenty of cues to steer me away from players who might not be a positive experience...

Ending the session will get you the badge. I did that will all my towns and the players got their badges.

I have a spare town that I use for trades. If I go to another players town I stay at the train station. Drop and ask if it's good.
Once they say yes I ask for them to end the session. Most traders do the end session right after they say thank you.

Yes I do feel the same. That's why I try to get out as soon as I can.
Once I've played with the person a lot I feel more comfortable.

I would totally walk calmly back to the train so they don't have to trouble themselves flipping the switch. However, the people I get villagers from are like "I have to get this freak out of town asap!" and it says they ended it when I'm still in the villager's house and all that. I'm just glad they don't do it the other way, that would erase everything that happened there.

Same here! I get so used to ppl automatically ending, so i just stand wherever im at, then inget a few people that dont so i just end up standing around awkwardly, then when i leave im like, gosh wonder what they were thinking when i was standing there like an idiot? But then when people come to my town for a trade or whatever, people usually leave when everything is done so i dont normally have to end, then i get a few people that like um, end please! So now when people is dropping something off or picking up, i never know what to do, even when people are visiting my town and they say that they have to go, im thinking ok, should i end or will they just leave. I never know what to do but thought it was jsut me.

I'm super chatty so whenever I'm visiting with someone, either for a trade or just playing, I'm like always messaging them lol that way when it's time to leave I either offer to end or ask if they're ready for me to leave (depending on if I'm visiting or hosting). In my experience, most people end the session after both players have said thanks/goodbye.

I'm always nervous when I have people over to just play in my town, not really afraid that they'll steal or anything, I just never know what to offer to do so I just kinda follow them around awkwardly lol...it's always fun to go to the island to play though c:

I often feel awkward doing trades as well so it's definitely not just you. I usually end the session if people are visiting after I say goodbye or have a good day/evening (or I let them know beforehand I'll end the session once the trade is done). Sometimes my connection can get iffy so I like to get trades done asap. If it's a long trade, I'll definitely let the other person know I'm saving in case any disconnections happen.

I've had a few sessions with people who hardly say anything and it's so awkward because you don't know what to say haha. I totally get not everyone is up for a conversation so I don't take offense to it (unless people try to steal of course). Thankfully, people on here are pretty nice.

I tend to follow people around whether it's their towns or mine. It's out of habit since I've had visitors steal things from my town on other sites so I'm still getting used to having people over. =v=

Anyway, communication is key!

I agree with everything you said. Ha. It is weird, too, because when strangers come over, I feel like I should have something to say to them... but I just don't have anything to say, really. So, yeah, trades with me are usually short so the amount of awkwardness can be minimized as much as possible, haha.

oh god, i get the feeling.. i feel almost like a criminal when i get booted out of towns when they end the session! i was also once in a bad situation where i thought I'd get a negative rating because i accidentally took a couple of hybrid flowers i wasn't meant to. i obviously apologised profusely and felt very bad afterwards, but god was i scared in case i got a bad rating!

Oh, I've never encountered the first thing you said. Everyone that visited my town just ask me to end session and it was quick. And yeah, i totally feel you about you said about people trying to steal stuffs. I always follow my visitors just in case they wanna steal. I had it happened to me once so that's why i don't lay any stuffs down on my town anymore.

if i'm hosting, id usually ask end? before i actually end just to make sure theres nothing else that needs to be done. I end asap because, yeah. awkwardness LOL, not because i dont want them in my town unless i'm busy.
i'd actually love to visit other people's town and wander around after the trade finishes

I usually just say thanks and bye and head for the station. In the best cases, we are trading at the plaza. That way no one is waiting awkwardly. Often people just end anyway, but if not, I'm halfway home!

Accidentally picking something up would have made me feel horrible too! Glad it worked out without negative rating.
