Villages stop wearing items?

Really curious about this and haven’t seen any real discussion. I’m curious if the villagers ever stop wearing certain outfits or put away the things you give them for good?

Will probably find this out from people who have had the same villagers for a long time...so any experiences?

I think if the clothing doesn't fit there personality they wear it little to never if it fits it gets cycled with the rest of it's clothes.

I gave Whitney a flower crown a while back and she wore it when I gave it to her now she just displays it in her house (And two of them??? WHY)

Static was given a baby romper by one of my other villagers, and I gifted him two different shirts that I thought looked "cool" and he likes them so much that I have not seen the romper again yet!

I gave Hazel a hairpin almost the first week in the game but she only wore it once and then never again! She still wears some of the items that i gave her early on, though.

Just one day! Shes never wore it since it just sits in her house

It's really interesting what I've noticed. I gave Katt this really cute outfit and she wore it for like two weeks. Then, all of a sudden, she changed back to her original outfit and put the cute one I gave her up on her wall. So maybe she'll do a cycle with her clothing? I had also given Coach an Outback Hat, and he pulled it out the other day! That was pretty neat. Merry has also been wearing this cute shirt I gave her for quite a while, and Marina is wearing this blue thing I had given her as well. I just love seeing them all wearing things I've given them!!

Mitzi still wears stuff from a month ago. It really depends on them though as I see they cycle through quickly for some.
