Bruce and Sheldon! I didn't like Sheldon at first but after talking to him for a while he's grown on me. Bruce was a random move in and he's grown on me too.

I invited Papi to my island on my last ticket during that island-hopping session - it wasn't a "I found someone I really like!" feeling so much as it was "holy crap I've gotten nothing but villagers like Quillson and Sprocket the last 10 tickets, I just want someone not ugly filling in my last plot so I can go to bed without waking up to Tom Nook randomly selling this plot to someone uglier I can't choose at all, so you'll do" situation.

And I did not expect to like him as much as I did! He's grown on me for sure, I did not like his default catchphrase ("haaay"), but he adopted a custom one from Mira so now I have no issues with him and I think he's really cute.

Probably Moe. I thought he was ugly when he moved in but he grew on me and now he is one of my best friends.

Rudy was my starter jock. I didn't really like him at first cause of his weird smile and he's a pretty basic looking cat. At first I was a little bothered by him because he gives me zero jock vibes. But he has grown on me since then. It's funny he talks about his healthy lifestyle but all I ever see him do is sit by trees with a lollipop.

I really do like him now, but if he ever asks to move I think I might let him.

I thought he was gonna get on my nerves and he doesn't fit the ~ aesthetic ~ I'm going for but he is adorable (when he started singing earlier I just ;__; )

I don't normally like hippos, and his design is super basic, but I fell in love with him and even got a card so I could keep him lol

Dom! I think he's adorable, but I really cannot stand jock villagers (and I was a little bummed when I found out he was a jock when the NH new villagers were revealed).

I typically plan my towns around having no jocks and instead I would rather have an extra cranky or snooty villager. Dom was my starter and he just melts my heart! He is so sweet and his love of muscles is a little comical for me considering how fluffy he is. He's definitely staying forever now.

When Deli moved into my NL town, I wasn't too enthused, since I'm not fond of most monkey designs. I thought he'd be a villager I wouldn't pay much attention to before their inevitable departure, but he grew on me A RIDICULOUS AMOUNT. Like damn he was practically my son. He talked about food a lot so I gifted him lots of the food related furniture, like the Apple tv and the pear wardrobe and the soft-serve lamp. Eventually most of his house was transformed. I think I've gifted him more than I have any other villager. I miss that little dude.

I had Freckles move into a house that I forgot to fill at first I hated her and when I searched her this images was first

BUT now I love her she is so derpy I gave her tiny shades but she does have flees more often then most of my villagers....

In Wild World. When Pate moved next door, I was like what an ugly duck : brown hair, and a frown? Eww.

Then she was always the first one to greet me when I was starting the game. She made me laugh, and she actually grew to be my favorite villager ever. And it's been that way for 15 years now.

Octavian. I thought he was ugly/scary looking until I stumbled upon him at a nook miles island. Now I won’t let him leave my village and have developed a soft spot for the cranky octopus

I originally never set out to have Roscoe in my town in the original plan of who I'd like to have in my town. But I found him on a NMT trip and really loved his design so I brought him into my town just to hold the spot so no super scary villagers moved in. I ended up really loving him and he's quickly become a staple in my town, I'm going to definitely keep him around and I also bought an amiibo of him in case he ever decides to leave and I want to change up my town a bit and I want to bring him back. The same thing happened with Lobo in New Leaf.
