Villagers you feel bad for because they're bullied

I mean several of my villagers are "bullied" because of being low tier... Renee and timbra. But I mean I fully recognize their shortcomings... renee does look like merengue's drugged out sister tbh. Some people are put off by timbra's make up, coloring, and design inspiration. But just like I can say Rodney has a really messed up face and pietro freaks me out, I understand why someone might find them appealing just like I do for renee and timbra

Its the ones that only have villages of "beautiful villagers" like diana, whitney, type that I just roll my eyes whenever they make these comments because like... we all know you're just riding the popularity and hype train lololol

Honestly? Everyone. I honestly think people who bully virtual animals - mostly due to their appearance - aren't good people. They can talk about wholesomeness and how they want a safe space, acceptance and stuff like that all they want, but they show their true colors when they project their true feelings on virtual beings because they know there's no consequence to being mean like that.

god I agree SO MUCH. when you point out how uncomfortable it is to see people bullying cute video game animals they always reply "um they're not real, they don't have feelings". that is not the point. of course the cartoon animal isn't actually going to be sad. the point is that you're injecting unnecessary cruelty and even violence to a game that is literally just about vibing in an island full of nature with friendly animals. if such a cute game can evoke those feelings in you, just because a villager doesn't fit the tumblr uwu aesthetic, what kind of person are you?

and yeah it's super eyerolly when people who preach acceptance and tolerance whine about "ugly" villagers. you say we need to be more tolerant yet you call hazel ugly because she has a unibrow, a feature that a lot of people irl have been bullied for? ok...

I had Hazel on my island for a couple of days to complete a trade, but she really grew on me during that time! I love the characters that are different from others.
Also, it blows my mind how many people don't like Frita. She's on my island and she literally has the best villager house I've ever seen (except maybe Julian, but that's a different story.) When I found Frita on an island I was so excited. She and I are awesome friends now

yeah i have seen some comments that are too much lol, or when people start saying stuff like that "anyone who likes *insert villager* is an idiot" yeah you need help.

But I mean I think its perfectly normal to find likes and dislikes in a villager, and its fun to poke fun of features like Jambette's big lips and etc. for example, like I said... Renee looks like merengue's cracked out sister or cousin lol, why would you want that on your town? idk, but I absolutely do. She's making her sobriety, recovery arc and now likes to help others and be supportive hahaha. That's the weird stuff i want on my island and if no one else has that imagination, hopefully you can live a day in my fantasy at some point lol

I have very strong opinions on Stitches, Vesta, and lots of others, but I know some or lots of people like them and idc if you do, its sweet if you have an attachment to any villager for any reason. Just not my cup of tea, and sorry if my opinion upsets your own view of a villager

I honestly feel bad for every villager that gets bullied. If people hit their villagers with nets until they get angry over and over again, I tend to question what kind of person they are.

For me it's Quilson. I see photos and videos of him being bullied and so many posts about people being absolutely horrified that he was their forced camper. I've started to feel bad for the poor little guy and am thinking about having him on my second island once I start it. The only thing that I can see that's "bad" about his design is is hair, but I could say the same about a lot of cute villagers with weird hair, lol. I have his amiibo card, so I went to Harvey's island and dressed him up in a cute little outfit. Are there villagers you feel bad for after seeing them bullied or hated on?

I feel bad for a lot of them I hate seeing villagers get bullied, even if they aren't the most appealing. I could never abuse my villagers because it mentally hurts to see them sad.

Pietro does have his fanbase, but his haters often seem especially aggressive.
Raymond. Sure, he gets way, way, WAY more love than hate, but the hate he does get, is vile.

I absolutely do not understand how one can be purposefully mean to these characters. I once accidently made Chopsy cry (didn't know that shoving them was a problem and he was in the way when I tried to get across a long, one space wide path) and I felt devastated! I could never purposefully go and hit them with nets or whatever, the reactions are just too heart wrenching.

Rodney definitely, also Quilson, Moose, Beardo, and Barold. Yeah, they aren’t the “best looking” villagers but I wouldn’t go out of my way to bully them tbh. I bet if you give them nice clothes and stuff they’ll look a bit better.

Just about any of them really. I don’t really consider any villager horrible while sure some are nicer to look at than others each has their own unique beauty. The abuse they get is also super uncalled for. Even if someone wants them out of their island badly abusing them doesn’t even make them move out faster. It’s been a false rumour since the older games that’s never been true.

For example my least liked villager on my island right now is Astrid. I want her to move next ideally but I’m fine with her staying as long as it takes. I don’t like her much but I far from hate her. Her design is ok but not really my tastes (I’m sure there’s someone out there who loves her and that’s great).

I would never dare abuse her or any other villager that I didn’t care for and wanted gone though. That’s just heartless even if they are just video game characters.
