Villagers won't mention rumors?

So... I time traveled a single day just to move in a villager, and I'm cautious with time traveling so immediately I started bothering snooty/Cranky villagers to the point of them getting thought bubbles but they never mentioned their default rumor sayings or stated that any villager is wanting to move. So... what does all this mean? Is someome leaving?

When I play i TT a lot for hybrid breeding and sometimes they go days without talking about rumors then all of a sudden they're like "oh hey flower lover" or "oh hey i heard you're quite the time traveler" or w/e they say.

I don't think tt'n would affect that. Also if someone is leaving you will find out about it. They will ping you and tell you.

I know they would, my major concern is Moe, who is my favorite and I spent forever and a day hunting for him. But nobody mentions any rumors aside from my mayor being a 'freshman mayor'

Then you're just getting unlucky. You really need the rumor dialogue from two villagers to confirm nobody is moving. (one to confirm nobody but the villager giving the dialogue is moving and the second to confirm the first villager is not moving). Another thing that works is a ping about something random, so if you only have a few villagers you care about and they ping you for anything other than moving then you know they aren't moving. You can also use this to check if nobody is moving so... One villager's rumor dialogue and if that villager pings you are clear.

One time Hans told Me that Skye was moving, so I went up to her and she pinged me. Of course, she asked to move and I said no. You may just have bad luck.

The rumors about you aren't the rumors this is about! I repeat: this is not about the hometown hero/bell pincher etc. rumors!
It's about dialogue like this:

-Cranky villagers will state that rumors can be frightening.
-Jock villagers may ask to spread rumors about their latest world record, or complain that others say that they are a prince from another planet.
-Normal villagers will comment that they will only spread rumors they have seen themselves.
-Smug villagers may remark that they have done things with other villagers, but refuse to elaborate on the details.
-Snooty villagers will use fabricated examples to show the player that simple rumors can spread very quickly.
-Uchi villagers will complain that rumors are circulating that they are known for one sport, when it is in fact another.
-Peppy villagers will ask the player for any gossip, think you are keeping something secret, and ask for you to spread the details.

Give them time. They'll start gossiping again.
