Villagers using each other's catchphrases...

Does anyone else wish the villagers would just keep their catchphrase (or the one you gave them) instead of ultimately all saying the same catchphrase by the end of the day?

I love the game! Don't get me wrong! But, having played across the Animal Crossing series, this has always been a little pet peeve of mine when I try to think of good catchphrases for each character to make them unique. Oh well!

Yeah, you're both right... I've played both City Folk and New Leaf, so I'm well aware. It just kinda sucks that it's still a thing haha.

Really annoying, almost half of my villagers copied Roald’s catchphrase “b-b-buddy” and other stuff and it bothers me just like Cube in NL and villagers copying his catchphrase saying “d-d-dude”.

Rudy is the prime suspect on my island for copying everyone's catchphrases. It was so weird when he copied Piper's "tweet tweet" and now Beau's "deerborn".

What's worse is that I saw a conversation between Beau and Rudy where Beau said that Rudy could say deerborn! D:

Ahh IKR! I was hoping that if I avoided listening into their conversation, it wouldn't let the catchphrase transfer...boy was I wrong... oof xD

I always think really freaking hard on the catchphrases to make them unique. Frita's wasn't that hard tho lol. Glad you like it!

I didn't know this was a thing, so I gave Cousteau a French catchphrase, only for Francine and Julian to start saying it. I was not happy.

its been forever since I played animal crossing so I forgot about this when I started new horizons. Ruby is my little moon rabbit so when she asked for a catchphrase I gave her "hop" and the next day Wolfgang started using it too since then I've just given them generic ones

I thought they usually would take on catchphrases other villagers use, maybe I'm wrong
I sort of like some of the villagers own catchphrases like Maples "Honey" Its cute considering she is a brown bear and all >//\\<
