villagers switching houses???

so i just came back in my town after i messed up rubys plot resetting doing a bunch of messed up time travelling and then avery and brocollo switched house locations

they're both starters and now brocollo is closer and avery is half across the town now so im sad

why did they do this does avery hate me now

In all seriousness though, why the heck did this happen? Is this some game mechanic I'm behind on, or is this a glitch?

I had the 3DS and AC:NL clocks both being changed to same/different dates, because I was trying to find out why Ruby wasn't there, and I eventually gave up - 3DS Clock on May 25th 1:45PM, AC:NL clock on May 24th, 2AM. I logged on my mayor after Isabelle told me the time, and the game popped up the 6AM bubble even though it said it was 2AM, and I came out my house and it was around 1:53PM instead of 6AM and Ruby placed her plot, even though the date was still the 24th through all this - weather conditions, villager dialog, shop items, etc had all changed even though I got sent back to the same day, just a different time.
