Villagers suddenly acting strangely

Hi everyone. My villagers have suddenly started acting strangely. They worry about things all the time and now constantly want me to fix or buy things from them. They have also stated giving me things out of the blue, which they never did before. Is this normal? I've had a pretty stable village for a long time.
