villagers placing flowers

so i've noticed something that villagers do with flowers. i have the beautiful town ordinance, and my town is full of randomly-placed groups of flowers. i've recently done some landscaping to make the flower placement less random, so i've put roses with roses, pansies with pansies, etc. there's no one central location for each flower type, it's more like there are multiple groups of flowers around town.

since my villagers are more inclined to place and water flowers, i've noticed that they'll put down flowers of the same type where they belong. my town clock is surrounded by pansies, and i just watched shari place a pansy right next to it. this isn't the first time it's happened, and my other villagers do the same thing with other flower groups. i'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if the villager AI is smart enough to do that, or if it's pure coincidence?

I notice the same things from my villagers! Bruce's house is surrounded by violets and I find him planting violets there pretty consistently.

I think it's part of their AI to plant the same type of flower as the one beside it

My villagers are really hit-or-miss with this. Usually they'll plant flowers of the same type near each other, but they still end up being the wrong color (Moe was planting yellow violets around his house where I only had purple violets for example) so I still end up moving them most of the time.

Although nothing will amuse me more than Violet planting violets near her house.

As far as I know, villagers planting flowers of the same type near each other is the norm! However, like others have said, they still aren't smart enough to match up the colors. xD

Yeah it's happened to me too and they like to put their flowers in little groups. Probably to introduce hybrids to new players or give them a head start I guess.

I just discovered that villagers will plant a random flower type next to carnations, in case anyone is curious. My carnation patch is surrounded by a menagerie of other flower types. xD

Every time they plant a flower that is an out-of-place flower in a field of different flowers, I want to whack their heads off. It's enough. My previous towns became a flower hell because of them planting too much flowers. It must be the Beautiful Town Ordinance.

Yep, my villagers do this too! It's a great way to get normal flowers, but very annoying to move them all the time. They never put the flowers where I want them

Yep, mine always plant the same type but wrong color. I really kick myself when I accidentally dig up a hybrid next to it instead of the unwanted flower!!!

I'm in the same boat, My villagers always plant flowers between hybrids. I just save them for people who need them.

My town already has around 1000 flowers. I want all of my town's flowers to be hybrids and things that go with hybrids, but my villagers keep planting random flowers everywhere and they're like weeds now that I have to pick up everyday.

I love it. Chief and Stinky live near the water well and I surrounded it with just a few violets. Now it's filled with flowers they planted themselves, or watered themselves which bred some new ones. This town is as much theirs as it is mine, so I'm glad they get to decorate it as well :3

Yup, as pp said, I think it's part of their A.I. to do that. Rosie always ruins my chances of blue roses. She keeps putting red roses in my hybrid patch (on the beach). >___>
