Villagers: Old and ugly furniture in their houses (from other players)

Hey!

Since I almost got all my dreamies, there is something that really bothers me: their old stuff from the other players.
I bought Marshal these days from Nookazon - I like him and everything worked out well. Until I walked into his nicely designed coffee bar style house: a man face bug and a black bass in the middle of his room and in his shelf... urgh...

Is there any way to prevent this from happening? It completely ruins the nice design for me. I never give any gifts like that to my villagers because I want their houses nice and clean...

Did anybody experience the same? What do you do?

you unfortunately can't do anything about it except for getting marshal again from someone that hasn't gifted him anything :c

isabelle can only revert clothes/dialogue (but even then it doesn't always catch everything)

as mentioned above best bet next time is to ask first if the villager the traded is trying to adopt out is original. personally, i always say first if they've been gifted especially when it's a sale and not a giveaway. no harm in asking before adopting if they haven't already said so

Sorry about that! The best thing you could do would be to gift Marshal furniture that fits his house and eventually he will stop displaying the old furniture from the previous player.

The only thing you can do is to get your villagers from amiibo cards and NMT islands to get them with a fresh slate.

You might be able to restore it if you give him stuff that is in his original house. If the bugs are in the empty slots, you have to gift him stuff of the same size to replace it
