Villagers Noticing your Clothes

My villagers comment a lot about how I wear the bear costume and how it looks fitting/cute/or sometimes even scary.

Ankha always tells me about being the hair bow gal when I used to wear it all the time

This is some interesting stuff, I never would have found out about maid outfits and such since I use a guy character but some of these reactions sound so hilarious, I wonder if they'd even comment about a maid outfit on a guy character the same way?

I used to wear a hockey mask all the time when I started, seriously I was going for a serial killer theme and even named my town 'Crystal' for Camp Crystal Lake and made my basement all creepy and not once did my villagers say I belong in a horror film. I can't believe I never got a villager that said that in all the time I wore it.

Maybe I should try wearing a hockey mask and a maid outfit to see if any of my current villagers notice anything unusual...

If anyone is curious I went through with this.

Dotty commented that I was dressed for house cleaning, she didn't seem fazed that my character was a dude in a dress and I appreciate how open-minded she is.

Whitney did a laughing emote and asked if I wandered into the wrong department at the costume shop again... Again? This was the first time my character wore a dress, and in her case the first time she's seen me in a hockey mask if that was what she was talking about but I'm pretty sure she was commenting on a guy wearing a maid dress, I have no idea what she means by "again" though. Anyhow, after all those times she asked about whether I wear makeup and claiming it was fine if I did I felt like it was odd she'd laugh and ask if I wandered into the wrong department store like that.

Phoebe commented on the hockey mask reminding her of a scary movie and it was making it hard for her to talk to me, we had talked several times already and several times after with no comment so it must not have been that hard.

Next I changed things up by dressing in a bunny hood, a white tux and white formal pants, I kept the hockey mask.
---
The first thing Dotty said was "You're looking so YOU today," this wasn't a comment on my clothes so much as a typical greeting but it made me take pause, she also made a comment on how suspicious Knox was for dropping a snowmobile, eventually she went into "thinking mode" because I talked to her too much but she didn't mention my clothes at all.

Phoebe said she likes my hockey mask more and more all the time and "Keep on sportin' your crazy style. Eventually you won't seem weird at all!" Do they not see the bunny hood? I think it makes the hockey mask more unsettling but they don't notice.

I tried Dotty again the next day and she commented that I looked snazzy, she apparently liked the tux so much that the hockey mask and bunny hood continue to go unnoticed by her.

Conclusion-Bunny hood and hockey mask look awesome together, and the running animation when I wear a dress seems different than when wearing guy clothes... Seriously I was running around the shops and I noticed that my character moved his arms up a lot when running when in a maid dress rather that the forward punching motion of my normal guy clothes, it's subtle but after switching back and forth and running at different angles I'm certain something is off.
