Ugh, I started my game on Monday and Isabelle was like, "Oh by the way mayor Fang is moving today." And Sunday was the fireworks show so when I saw him then he was just complementing the fireworks. No one said anything about someone wanting to move, not even the villagers in their houses. It stinks because I just got Fang in a trade. I didn't even see the inside of his house yet. Is there any way to change a villager's mind once Isabelle says this or tt or something? Is this a cranky villager thing? Just leaving without saying anything. Static did a similar thing to me in City Folk and a couple of my other crankies from New Leaf also snuck away without notice. So rude.

Sorry to hear that :(

Unfortunately, once Isabelle tells you someone is moving it means they are boxed up and thus you can't do anything about it. It sucks that no one else told you, but this is not a cranky only thing. If a villager is sick they won't tell you either, even if the others tell you they're thinking of moving, if the mover is sick inside their house, you can't do anything to persuade them.

So sorry this happened to you :( I lost Rodeo because of nobody pinging on Halloween, so I know how much something like this can hurt :(

I lost Teddy last week the exact same way. We watched the fireworks together on Sunday and then Monday he was packed up. Nobody ever said anything to me about him wanting to move. I haven't had the heart to go back into that town since he was picked up yet either. I just don't want to look at the empty space where his house was. :(

Gotta be checking earlier before the fireworks start or the day before. Even if I'm tired/busy and can't play, I at least get on to chat with some villagers to check. Before I started pursuing dreamies or TT'ing, I never didn't know about a villager leaving.

Yeah it really sucks how events can play havoc with the normal pattern for villagers moving. I haven't had anyone I care about leave but I had a jock (I think, def wasn't a cranky anyway as I love those ones and would know for sure if it was one of them) leave after a bug/fish hunt day. Was a big surprise since they'd been out and about like normal and then were in boxes the next day. I had thought it took a few days between thinking to leave and "boxes day".

Also just learned yesterday that villagers can ask to move out the very next day after someone else asked to move. I don't even talk to the villagers that much as I'm not usually fussed who comes or goes, but the last thing I did in-game was tell someone (Biskit I think) to stay since I haven't got their pic yet. Then TTd to next in-game day and first thing that happens is Cherry pinged to move. Also declined since I have to get her pic, too. Oops. I should really work on that!

Yeah. It seems like when one person leaves my town, everyone wants to leave. I stopped 2-3 people from moving recently. On the plus side Fang did complete my 16 villager cycle to get Roscoe back. But now I kind of want Fang back too now...

Oh that's lame. I didn't know they could do that when they were sick too. I would hate it if that happened.

WTF! That is awful! I didn't know that could happen! D: That would be like the worst luck ever! Damn, I would be so desperate if something like that happened to me! I hope it doesnt! ;_________; specially with Wolfgang or Rolf.

Sorry for your lost Tyki! Fang is so cool. At least give him a good home in some of your friends town so you can at least still see him.

I could be wrong but I think villagers not saying they are leaving could be a result of if you don't greet them on the day they move in? But I'm honestly not too sure.
