I finally got beau in a town, and now I want to get him onto my main copy of the game. I'm not going to bother becoming a mayor, cause I'm planning on resetting after, But Can villagers move out before you are a mayor?
I'm confused... what do you mean by "before you are a mayor"? You're the mayor from the moment you start a new town. If you're talking about transferring a side character to a different copy of the game to become mayor, then no, villagers won't move before you start your town and become mayor.
Yeah, just TT forward a bit, get nine villagers and take a guide to moving villagers out. Unless you're against time travelling. THen it's gonna take a while.
I'd take it slowish and have moving Beau over as medium to long term project.
You can get a villager asking to move when you only have 8 in - I did on my 2nd to last town - a new town, and the 8th villager asked to move - confusing as I did have one moving in ( the possible 9th) and a camper.
I was plot resetting, the camper and potential 9th villager changed on each new save file, and I had the 8th and last villager to move in, asking to move. (I said no to that).
In meantime you could take advantage of having two towns.
The villagers will not move if you don't speak to them and live in a tent. I have a spare town with all players in a tent and the mayor ignores Isabelle request to sit in the chair. It will be 3 years in September with the same villagers locked in the town. Building a house will make the villagers move once you at 9 villagers.
If you do speak to them make sure to watch for movers. After 9 villagers stop visiting your other town and streetpassing until you get Beau request to move. You could get an unwanted villager from the town you plan on erasing.
