Today when I went onto my town, something strange had occurred to me; one of my villagers, Canberra, had left my town without a trace. ._. Since I've been busy lately, I only try to play every few days so I don't lose any villagers. I also just let Muffy move out of my town about a week or two ago, and Boone seemed to have moved into her place. However, as I said before, I had noticed Canberra was completely gone, her house, her house icon the map, everything. I'm almost positive I still had her when Muffy left and when Boone moved in, and according to the bulletin board, she was still in my town for the Fishing Tourney (the 18th). I believe this means that she was still here after Muffy left and possibly when Boone moved in, meaning she just left within the past two weeks, but no earlier than that. The really confusing thing is, though, that she left without any notice, letter being sent, or notification from Isabelle. This has never happened to me before and I've never heard it happen to anyone else, but is it possible for a villager to leave with no trace as she did? I'm not concerned since I wanted her to move out anyway, but I'm still curious as to why this happened. ^^; Another villager that left my town possibly a few weeks before I played again in November had still sent me a farewell letter, so I don't understand why Canberra wouldn't do the same.

And for anyone who doesn't want to read that because it's so long; is it possible for a villager to move from your town without any trace (ex. without any farewell letter being sent or a notification from Isabelle)? I also apologize for how detailed I was, I tend to do that. >_< Thanks for any input! :)

To be fair, I think anyone would be happy with Canberra leaving without a trace :)

But seriously have you been ignoring her? Villagers sometimes leave without notifying you if you haven't talked to them. Especially if you ignore their pings.

I hadn't been ignoring her completely, but I didn't really talk to her often.

Oh, and by "notification", I wasn't talking about when they ask to leave town, but when Isabelle tells you that someone is leaving when you start up the game. ^^ I suppose that since today was apparently not the day that she moved, Isabelle wouldn't have told me. But why didn't she send me a letter? I always have gotten a letter from anyone who has moved, no matter how I have treated them. Maybe, though, it was because I hadn't talked to her much? This is really confusing...^^;

I'm sorry about reviving this thread, but does anyone else have an explanation as to why this happened? I'm still not entirely sure what could have caused this but I again appreciate any input. :)

Awww, I like Canberra. She is a sweetie. :)
I don't have an explanation though, sorry, BUT... The same thing happend to me a few weeks ago with Mira, another Uchi. I was really surprised that she didn't even sent a letter after she was gone. We haven't really been best friends because I'm not a fan of her design but I didn't ignore her either. So weird!

That happened to me. Molly is in boxes today but Isabelle didn't warn me at all. All she told me was that I forgot to save

I can only assume you missed the ping from the villager and didn't read Isabelle telling you they were moving. Can't believe the game would give you no warning about it.

you said that you've been playing every few days, not every day
this could mean that she left on a day that you did not play so Isabelle wouldnt have been able to tell you

I'm sorry for being idle for a while there! I didn't realize so many people would reply! O_O;

I'm glad this isn't the first time this has occurred! ^^ It seems similar as to what had happened to Sterling when I hadn't played for a while in around November, but even he sent me a letter. I suppose that may have resulted since I didn't really talk to her much, but it was still sort of strange to me.

I wasn't present on her moving day, unfortunately, as her house was completely gone from my town and the town map. :/ I know that Isabelle wouldn't have warned me about her moving because she was already gone, but the absence of her letter is what I'm investigating.

I definitely was not present for her to tell me she was moving or on the day she moved. I also had only just played the game about three days before, which if I'm correct is not enough time for a villager to move. ^^ As I said before, I think I've found out that the reason I had no warning from Isabelle was that she had moved beforehand. Still sort of strange on that part, though.

Yeah, I just figured that would be why she would have left with no notification. ^^;

Well, what I've asked has mainly been answered, but I have one more quick question; does Canberra's move still count as one of the 16 I need to get Fang back? My first villager to move after him was Muffy, and Canberra had followed after her, so that should make the count two so far. The only reason I'm asking if it counts, though, is because of the unusual way she left. ^^ Again, thanks for all of the feedback, I really appreciate it! :D

I have read somewhere that if you dont talk them for a week, they will not ping you when they move. Also when I use to cycle, i obviously did not talk to any villagers. None of them sent a letter after they left
