Villagers Didn't Come Over?

So my friend had a request from Ankha to go to his house, and from Apple to go to her house. They were at different times, and he was in the right place at the right time for them both. But neither of them turned up? I had a theory that it was because I came over after he had the requests, but before he was supposed to go, and I was gone before they were supposed to hang out. Has something like this happened to anyone?

I've noticed this happen before even though I didn't have someone come over during the time the visits were to take place. I'm not even sure what triggers it.

I've had a villager ask to meet before and not show up, but only one at a time. When I talked to them, they said something along the lines of "I got busy!" Maybe that happened with both of them? Just a thought.

I asked him that, and he said that they had no recollection of it but I have had that happen to me before haha

Opening your gates will stop the visit. If something comes up in real life I quickly open my gates and than go find the villager.
The villager will say something came up and their sorry they can't make it.

Sometime they just flake out and forgot you. I waited 10 minutes for a villager and thought maybe I made a mistake.
No error they were standing outside and said something came up.

I've had this happen even without a visitor, actually; Pietro and I were headed to his house, and when it loaded me inside, Pietro was nowhere! But when I went outside and back in he was there? Not sure if this is what you mean, buuut...?

This happens sometimes, even when you have the gates closed. They just seem to forget and when you meet up with them, they tell you they forgot.

When you have friends over, I don't think they ever stick with those plans because you have visitors.

I think it's not that random although I might be wrong. Happened to me twice with lazy villagers. Coincidence?

It happened to me too. It's mostly the lazy villagers that don't shop up.

It happened to me with a lazy villager too, so shouldn't be that rare.
