Villagers: crushing your hopes and dreams

So last night, the worst thing happened.

There I was, happily playing my town, when Flo pinged me, talking about turf wars and asking to move. Naturally I was ecstatic because I've been waiting for her to move out so I would finally have a spot free again, but then...




I know you could do the whole 'quit without saving' thing when this happens, but I had done a ton of work in my town that I would have lost, so...augh. I'm so mad.

I had done several music boxes with Cyrus though, as well as ordering a bunch of stuff from the catalog and house redecorating and such. It would have been terrible to re-do. ;~;

Harsh, very, very harsh. I'm not sure what I would have chosen. I tend to save a lot though so I can quit if the villagers trade shirts in an undesirable way. Merengue keeps trying to retire from being a chef.

I don't even think to randomly save to be honest. I wasn't even expecting a move-out ping, since I thought that after a villager moved in, there was a time period when you didn't get pings about moving (but I guess I remembered wrong). Maybe I'll try and get in the habit of saving whenever I do something time consuming.



Also, hitting Flo with a hammer is in order next time I see her.

You can get a ping when the new villager is just a roped off plot. Good luck with that hammer!

oh yeah, i had that happen to me before... it's like nintendo wants to punish you for trying to move out your villagers by making your 'besties' have more of a likely chance of moving out, also adding in more of an incentive to check in your town every day. i don't get why you can't just give the unfavorites an eviction notice and they'll move out within a day... y'know., because you're the mayor.

oh god. I HATE THAT. That happened to me with Sparro, and he had his house right next to my town hall -.- Like, im sorry to say but you are not wanted xD Its so annoying, but I didnt know the trick of quitting without saving. I'm defo doing that next time!

IMO re-doing 2 hours of re-decorating is far better than waiting between 5~100+ days for that specific villager to ping you again to move. I would have just reset and saved yourself a ton of waiting.

If you don't TT it would be worth quitting. If you do TT and can just TT back and forth to get pings it might take as little as 5 minutes to get them to ping again. Of course it could also take you hours....

This is exactly what happened with Purrl! She's still in my town too. And for some reason I always forget to play so when I come back, a villager is usually gone. Well Purrl never leaves! Cyrano, Pierce, and even Merengue (I'm still pissed about that, I paid 300btb for her!) left! I haven't resorted to time travel, but if she offers to move I'll let her.

I've had this happen a lot lately. Villagers I want to stay, asking to move....then Villagers I want, beg, cry to leave... ALWAYS GET MAD WHEN I SAY OK. LEAVE THEN.
I just want that kangaroo gone. Can't stand those villagers.
