Villagers changing catchphrases

Recently I discovered that Colton is saying "ROOWF" like a dog. I didn't even change his normal phrase, how did this happen and can I fix it?

Villagers not only exchange clothing,they exchange catchphrases.Do you have a dog villager in your town?

Half the time when villagers talk to each other, they may pass their catchphrase to the other. If you want to change it just wait until they ping you and ask you to change their catchphrase.

Thanks all, but then he started saying there was rumors going around that him and flora were together but that was actually about butch x'D
